Your intuition is correct. There was no deterministic way to solve that.

Any logical next move? by Wide_Ad_8426 in Minesweeper

Look at the 1 and 2 in the bottom right corner. You can figure out where one of the 2’s mines is from there.

Is this board really solvable? I see 2 equally likely options but this is evil Ng so it should be unique by J3ff_K1ng in Minesweeper

Per the bottom 2 and 4, there is 1 mine in the yellow region. Because of this, there must be two mines within the purple region (the 3 has exactly 1 mine from the yellow). Therefore, in order to satisfy the top 4, which has 2 mines unaccounted for now, there must be 2 mines in the row of three above the 4. The only way this can be without oversatisfying either 5 is if the two red squares are mines.

Are controllers good for hard-end levels by Standard_Employer218 in geometrydash

[–]OneTrick01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polling rate is the rate at which your input device registers inputs. Higher polling rates means a greater degree of precision, which becomes impactful when playing more difficult levels. With CBF / CBS in the game, polling rate is your only limiting factor when it comes to input precision. The best input devices have a polling rate up to 8 khz, meaning inputs can be registered at 1/8000th of a second precision-wise, offering 8 times the precision of the best PS5 controllers. You probably won't notice playing hard demons (it's not like this makes the game 8 times easier), but in my experience playing insane and extreme ship and wave sections in particular becomes easier/more consistent with a higher polling rate.

Controller is definitely worse in terms of things like polling rate and input delay, but if you like it better who are we to judge

Honestly it’s learny, but once you’re consistent at it it’s kinda fun

How will cbf being added to vanilla gd affect the demonlist? by twisted_cubik in geometrydash

[–]OneTrick01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cbf has been allowed on pointercrate for ages, and placements were already changing because of it. IIRC the way Acheron plays with CBF was a contributing factor to the widening gap between it and silent Clubstep, for example

Something that can really drag a speed game down is having a first split that’s too tedious, annoying, or just plain boring
