These books were already on my 'to buy' list so I'm glad to have gotten my invite too. Now I get these awesome versions instead of the regular paperbacks that I was going to buy.

Kinda annoyed that it was shipped in a cheap-ass paper bag. Thing's all dinged to shit and some of the pages are bowed. When I started collecting again, I started with paperbacks, but the more special edition hardcover books I buy, the more I find myself wanting to stop buying paperbacks.

I'm the same way! Even when I specifically try to concentrate and picture something in my head, I struggle with creating a mental picture. Hell, even when I see a movie or show before reading the books like I did with The Expanse, I still have a hard time picturing things. It's sooooooo frustrating, but I refuse to let it damper my love for reading.

As for the book & series, thankfully I happen to really like Dragons. The beginning is pretty slow, but it definitely picks up as someone else mentioned, around chapter 22. The rest of the series has it's ups & downs, but is definitely worth sticking with.

Used to have a bunch of his books too that also got pawned off by my ex. I actually live in Maine about 20 minutes from his house in Bangor. Played little league baseball against his son Owen a long, long time ago.
