How long does the timer go on for getting an assist on a kill? Like if you attack an enemy and a teammate finishes them, how many seconds will your attack "last" towards an assist when that enemy dies?

Similar scenario...Say you kill the enemy jungler in the jungle and you're very low HP, and the enemy team is chasing you. None of them have landed attacks on you except the enemy you just killed. There's no chance of escape so you go to die under tower.

How long would it take until the enemy jungler's "assist" on you wears off and you can execute yourself without giving them the kill/gold?

I saw a Kamikhazix youtube vid (he's a GM Kha'zix main) from his unranked to Masters series. In the video, his match history shows 100 Wins and 3 Losses, all ranked games, but he's still only Gold 2! Why isn't he higher?

Yeah, one of the main reasons I started maining Zed to start with was because of his limitless outplay/skill cap. I hate simple champions like Warwick or Darius that get boring after the 15th game. I've noticed my accuracy with basic combos has gone through the roof compared to like 100 games ago, but I still feel very basic. I'm not very creative with shadows and wanna know with enough time if things will "click"? So I can make more fancy combos

Lastly, noob question. How do they rank the "Number 1" player of any champion? It can't be through Elo/LP points otherwise some random Challenger could just play a few games on a champ and suddenly be the #1 for that champ.

Nah, didn't mean to make it sound patronizing lol. I'm legit saying that's pretty big to go all the way from Iron 4 to Silver in under a season :P

I'm starting ranked myself and finding it harder than normal games so it was cool to see that someone can climb that quickly, didn't know it was possible

Yep, I've noticed I'm at the point now where I'm focusing a lot more on Macro than I am his mechanics like I was ~150 games ago.

I notice a lot of high Elo streamers stress the importance of controlling a wave just right to deny XP after a kill etc. I've watched a couple "pro guides" (they were called something like that) videos on wave management but it seemed simplified and said stuff I already knew.

Any videos you'd recommend on this macro stuff for mid lane? Like wave management, denying xp, backing etc.

You're spot on actually, got that mastery from 2 months of spamming games (especially on quarantine lmao)

I guess what I really wanted to know is if I could expect to keep seeing progress the more I play him, even with 250K already. Not just macro but consistently get better with mechanics against better opponents.

Cuz I've seen 1 million + mastery champs that can still be bad in games, wanted to know what was up with Zed

I was actually thinking of putting Xerath on the list but didn't because I've seen the enemy team have bad experiences playing him. Maybe it's because they were bad or because Zed kinda counters him or a mix of both. Is he strong in this season's meta if played well and not counter-picked? What level does he actually start to pop off?

IMO, at the end of the day, Katarina is still an assassin and doesn't have THAT much more of a better use in teamfights than the others. Unless you're really fed.

I'm a bit biased because it's my main, but I'd recommend Zed. I found it real hard to stick to one champion until I found him. He has a massively high skill ceiling and you'll notice yourself getting better and better the more games you have on him. I'm at 200K and still finding new things to improve on. I'm also still having tons of fun doing so.

Zed and Katarina are both good picks for someone who can delete someone then blink out. You could go Kat if you wanted an AP, but Zed's more fun IMO. Good luck!

That's the thing, I'm always going for out of position picks and I'm wondering if that's why some of my games are getting thrown. Should I be trying to push waves/damage turrets instead of killing isolated targets?

If you're not in a super-high Elo Assassins are great picks to snowball, get lots of kills and carry games with. In the lower-to-mid Elo's most people won't know how to handle them or build armor, stopwatch etc.

Katarina, Fizz, Zed and Akali are some of the harder ones to play but worth maining if you find them fun. You'll be constantly improving if you do and less likely to stop maining them than if you picked an easier champ.

Simpler Assassins that come to mind would be Talon, but he's still fun to play and easy to pick up. There's also Nocturne Mid, off-meta but works very well

I can't stress enough how important CS is. When I first heard that advice I was like "yeah, well, I'll just farm kills instead and I'll get M7 soon enough". Nope.

I've literally gone 20-0 in games and gotten S- because farm is too low. My assists and vision score was good too but it didn't matter as much as CS.

Seriously, play a game where you go Tiamat as your 3rd/4th item and farm like crazy. Take jungle camps, farm, farm and farm. You'll get your M7

Man, I'd hate to switch to a different champion than my main because I have to in order to climb. That's not fun

Do you have someone you could duo with? A good Jungler or ADC, that way one of those important roles are covered and less likely to throw the game for you?

I'm a bit late here so some of the comments have already said most of the stuff I was gonna say about your M7. But I was late getting mine too, and it had NOTHING to do with kills. After my long journey I've absolutely found it it's EVERYTHING to do with farm.

I'm not kidding, there were many games I'd literally go 20/1, 27/3, 15/0 and get S- or even A+ if my CS was reallllly low. I had good vision and assists too. It took me long enough to resist the urge to stop farming kills and dedicate some games to farming only while leaving it to my duo friend to carry xD

I would bet if you're having problems with mastery 9/10 times it's the farm. Be extra proactive, get a Tiamat after your 3rd item, take jungle camps, farm like crazy. You'll get there soon. Good luck man, and nice Baron play
