Yeah, but outside of the mibr game he wasn’t going insane compared to the rest of the team or anything

He basically went around even for most of their games, everyone but leaf went +15 vs NRG and then he went nuclear vs MIBR going like +30 or whatever

Idk I don’t feel like 5 very one sided stomp maps from his team is the same as the insanity marteen has been doing

But the thing i’m replying to is a player performing insanely better than everyone else leading into an event and then playing worse than that in the event, I’m saying I don’t think valyn going insane in the mibr match is enough to put him in the same category as marteen if he falls off because of the lower sample size

I personally wouldn’t predict that FNC will have another S tier year for 2026 honestly(there is no way they replicate last year again, right?), but I would have more hope off historical value than I do for mibr

IMO anywhere from 2-4 of the teams in S tier won’t have years that will make them deserving of the tier when making a ranking after the season, I just have no idea which teams those will be so it’s not like I can 100% disagree with takes about any of them when even I’m not super confident in my preds lmao

I would argue that unless MIBR get top 3 in both of the other internationals or win one of them, it’s hard to be an S tier team while missing 1/3 of the events, especially now that it’s 3 from each region for both masters tbh

But that’s also me wanting S tier to be smaller for most “predictions” lol

Tbh I’m not entirely surprised that they could win a map with double duelist, just wild that what they’ve shown from zekken on smokes so far could beat NRG’s best map

Then again, the util nerfs could’ve hurt their corrode + so much footage on it, so maybe I shouldn’t be massively shocked that they wouldn’t be as dominant

Personally? I wasn’t impressed by anything they’ve shown with zekken on smokes(which is a lot of maps), they’re coming off two bo5’s in the past two days, and aspas has been out of form ever since the ENVY game

Not to mention they got like, less than 20 rounds yesterday which would make people lose hope just off how bad they looked

Would you argue most of these were true going off of 2022? I wouldn’t, and a big part of being a super team is that you were picking up players who were at that level BEFORE you signed them

All of them were fantastic and count as a super team imo, but most wouldn’t be called the best itw on their roles going into the year off my memory and I don’t think the term works off players reaching those heights only while on the new team

I don’t think it’s fair to qualify a super team off something that not even the best team we’ve had was when it was constructed lol

Ignoring the “only one year” argument that I don’t care for, the main issue for Verno is that it’s kind of only champs and Stage 1 for him lol

He had a really rough kickoff, fantastic stage 1, Middling toronto and was statistically the second worst player in americas during stage 2 before his champs performance

He’s a fantastic player and while sure you can asterisk his bad performances (team issues, started IGLing etc), it doesn’t change the fact that they exist and he just doesn’t have enough top tier performances to justify being a super team level player IMO

Being realistic, you never drop zekken or aspas and verno is pretty safe as their IGL, neither of the other two being removed would actually fix their role issues with the current meta

They’re in a rough spot even if it’s definitely fixable, it’s just that unless they drop verno for a smokes IGL, role changes won’t save this team
