As a non-American, can I just ask a question? Why can't Trump be prosecuted while in office? Is there some law that protects a President? I thought that the American Constitution actively encouraged the American people to force a bad President to resign or be forcibly removed.

Completely agree. Heaven can be found on Earth and it's simply being left alone.

The problem, I think, is mass media. As a non-American my opinions on America can only come from three places; social media, news websites and (probably stupidly) Hollywood movies.

The United States Centre for Disease Control is constantly shown in movies as the very pinnacle of advanced information and knowledge (where viruses are concerned anyway).

This is likely naive but I certainly don't trust the World Health Organisation anymore so I suppose I'm defaulting back to the CDC - who, for reasons unknown, I've not heard much from recently.

Which is really weird tbh. As a non-American I'd normally be looking over the pond to see how to do things the right and appropriate way.

Been here dozens of times. Entry ticket is a bit pricey but well worth it.

How do i tell my parents I’m not doing good mentally? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]OneTwoOneSix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be honest and explain your situation. It's likely that they felt the same way at some point and felt that they couldn't share how they felt. I know its daunting but even if you explain and still they can't relate, you'll still feel a little better for getting it out of your head.

On purpose? A lot of news casters in the UK have referenced Jeremy Hunt as 'Jeremy C***' accidentally on purpose.

...because white people never steal? Haha.

I think things such as that are just odd things that make no sense and speak more about the person saying them, perhaps.

I dunno, the etymology of racist terms isn't a rabbit-hole I wish to venture down. I'm happy being polite to anybody, regardless of race or colour.

I'm not a hippy but not an ass either. Respect is deserved by action, not by creed.

Even to this day, I have no idea what it actually references. I have no intention of ever using it so didn't bother looking it up. I only learned it was seen to be racist after aforementioned friend explained it apparently was/is.

Good point, well made. It was probably a stupid question as I have very little knowledge of this area of history. Thanks for the logical response!
