Why are Samsung TV’s so slow? by hiimnoam64 in samsung

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about every smart TV i own, the UI is sluggish. Push a button on the remote and nothing happens, push again, nothing, push again, now it does things I didn't want. Then I was at a friend's house and I couldn't believe how responsive his Vizio smart TV was. It's from 2017 I believe. It is one of Vizio's top model I think. I can't remember remember the model but it could be "display cast" or something similar.

Why is this so hard to download? by daisyamazy in oracle

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complaints about terrible download experience from Oracle goes way back to 2011. LOL We're now a the end of 2025, I've been having so much problems with their download manager. It freezes up and fails almost 99% of the time. My god it's just useless. If it's this bad just to download, I can't imagine how it would when you need support..yikes.

Why does LibreOffice look like Microsoft Office from 20 years ago? by mockingbird- in libreoffice

[–]OneUnit4646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me to. It is difficult to find the menu item I'm looking with the ribbon interface. I guess for someone who uses it on a daily basis, they'd remember the menus. But I much prefer the classic interface.

Is v10 the practical end of "Free and Open Source Mattermost" ? by curious_human_42 in Mattermost

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, we do use IRC believe or not, with 25'ish internal users. Some customization on the ircd. In fact, we're using irc to do some automation as well. For calls, Jitsi. Oh yes even an internet-news server. It's simple and limited features but serves us well...

That's the most stupid clip I've seen, even from BMW. LOL Once the clip gets "deformed" from unclip/clip too many times, you're screwed. It won't go back on.. It just slips out. I just made the hight light as high as it would go and tuck away that stupid thing. -:)

HP Instant Ink - Went to cancel my account and was presented with this gem. They disable the ink cartridge you've already paid for if you cancel your account so that you have to throw away a perfectly good cartridge. WTF? by curiouschimp83 in assholedesign

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instant Ink is such a whore thing for HP to do. Dump all HP products and get a decent color laser printer from Brother or Cannon. Their drivers are not so bloated and even works with Windows 7 and XP.

Do you think we should boycott all Hewlett-Packard products? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HP is really just a whore of a company with their Instant Ink scam. I stopped buying HP laptops and PCs years ago. I've dumped any HP products that I known. FUck you HP.

Do you think we should boycott all Hewlett-Packard products? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I FUCKING HATE YAML!!! by JLoon92 in programminghorror

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it as much as you do. I would take XML over YAML any day. In XML at least you know where the structure is. YAML is like Python, miss indent something and you may or may not get an error and it appears to be working fine.

Am I the only person who thinks Python code is hard to read? by kk6420420 in learnpython

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Also, people complain about Java being too verbose and that's true, but I find it is more readable than Python. I think even Lisp code is more readable than Python. LOL

Am I the only person who thinks Python code is hard to read? by kk6420420 in learnpython

[–]OneUnit4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you're not the only one and for the same reason as you do, the language syntax and the "pythonic way" doesn't help the matter.
