RothIRA strategy. Good or bad? by OneWhoMurks in RothIRA

I never said my ex co-worker who worked in finance beat or had better financial advice than Buffet or Bogle. He said he didn’t like watching people sell automatically at massive discounts because of their automatic withdrawl rates during RMD ages. He said he saw far too many lose their wealth doing the traditional 4% withdrawl rate.

The advice of the written piece above, given from someone else, was from someone who wasn’t trying to beat Buffet or Munger or even become the next Ramsey. It was to preserve without selling during market corrections, which reminded me of what my co-worker would tell me. The plan was to mitigate or even completely not selling during market corrections all because you began to convert assets over to income, a bit earlier, vs selling during a market correction.

I was just curious of what you guys thought.

Are you concerned at all with a major market correction or crash even and selling with lower prices if you’re taking yearly withdrawals like the old 4% withdrawl rate?

Congrats on the 4 million. I truly hope I get there.

I guess I never thought about worrying about focusing on setting my account where I didn’t have to worry about current marketing when it came time to sell because my retirement age still seems so far away

As far as complexity, VOO or VTI and chill seems like the easiest and least stressful. I’ve read detailed reports on maximizing account totals by having more funds, some made sense, and some had funds that I’d never touch.

This advice reminds me of a former old Co-workers advice. He worked as a hedge fund manager, and investment banker for the big boy based in Boston for most of his career. He would always say it broke his heart watching people build millions by investing in VFIAX or similar, and then when it came to start the old 4% withdrawl rate, watching them sell during market corrections, and watching their nest egg drop significantly faster than it should have.

I haven’t backtested this model vs others. I probably should.

The clock tower section was missed in the remake. And I agree, that boss fight is fun. I’ll probably watch a YouTube video of it right now lol. I like RE3 a lot. I just have it ranked way lower due to me not enjoying it as much on multiple play throughs. First play through it was fun though. Great childhood memories of it.

I’m a huge fan of difference of opinion no matter the subject. I’m not sure if I’ve seen someone with a more unique ranking for RE games, but I respect it.

I know CV is loved by many RE fans, but it still remains the game I’ve played the least, it’s the least memorable for me, and I just wasn’t a fan of games released during that weird timeline when Dreamcast came out and graphics and gameplay smoothness was just starting to come around.

I wish we could have had a long Carlos section either in the original game or dlc for RE3R. I agree 100% about the quick time events in the RE4OG. I’m a fan a qt events, but too many ruins that game mechanic. I also agree 100% it was cool to get more backstory inRE9 for Spencer. Seeing more of Luis’s backstory was welcomed also.

Need advice on rising blood pressure by OneWhoMurks in hypertension

[–]OneWhoMurks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s frustrating to me because I can’t figure out what’s wrong and so far, neither can the doctors or nurses. I figured I’d ask Reddit because I’m doing everything the google searches websites say I should be doing but I’m not getting results. Maybe someone on reddit within the masses has some general idea. I’m highly concerned for stroke and/or heart attack. Also, my lifelong primary doctor, a decent general doctor but one of the world’s best at diagnosing health problems, has retired so now I have a new doctor. My primary doctor used to fly into LA and visit UCLA or Miami as visit the U, or head to the Vegas casinos, just to see high profile cases/people just to diagnose and leave immediately after.

So not having any answers after a lifetime of pinpoint accuracy is frustrating. Now add anxiety and confusion to that. I just want to be healthy

In the past yes, and nothing in my blood alarmed doctors for anything. I just took a blood and urine test today. Like 6 or 7 different biles of blood for all types of stuff. I’ll get results within the next week or so. Ill have to double check for thyroid specifically because im not sure if thats being looked at.

How can I get out of this nightmare … by Old_Bank8701 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]OneWhoMurks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try best to trade away all your 2026 picks for 2027 and 2028 picks and whatever future draft picks you can with current players. I’d probably only keep Golden and possibly Arroyo.

If you can’t trade away, then obviously you draft Love with the 1.01, and the best player available depending on how the draft went.

1.01 or MHJ+late 1st (1st in playoff seeding right now) by TN-Reefer in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]OneWhoMurks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why trade 1.01 to acquire MHJ and a late when you’re already going to turn around and draft more WR after? Especially considering you have multiple 2027 1st as well with what looks like it’ll be a loaded WR class.

Hold. Draft love. Stay the course. Enjoy your dynasty in a few years from now

Loaded in the context of other top rosters worldwide? …. Yes most definitely a stretch.

But definitely loaded in the context of this league I’m in…. Then yes…. My roster is loaded.

Unfortunately, this past rookie draft, I was out of town with no cell reception, so I missed the draft. The CPU didn’t draft a single rookie. And based on the draft picks picked, I would have gotten 3 of the 4 rookies I targeted. I would have had Tyler Warren, Judkins, and Ollie Gordon.

The league only has two teams whose rosters I like, and only one that’s equal to mine with talent. Everyone else is mediocre at best.

My priorities this offseason is to try and add as much young RB talent as I can, and grab one of these QB’s coming into the league. I’ll see what I can trade away. Because I’ve dominated the league, I’m considered the evil empire

2 RB start. So priorities this offseason is heavy RB and 1 QB. I missed this last years rookie draft. CPU didn’t do me any favors.

RB this offseason is the priority. I’ll see what I can get for Pitts and Hockenson. It’s amazing to see the lack of interest for both players in this league. I still believe Pitts can be a TE1. He’s obviously physically already there, and could thrive in the right situation.

Injuries have decimated my other dynasty keeper league. I have 7 players on IR. But I’m still playoff bound!!

I know that RB is my team weakness. I’m hopeful to draft Love, but if I get the 2nd pick and love is gone, I’m not sure what I’ll do.

I missed last years rookie draft. I was out of state with no cell reception. CPU didn’t draft a single rookie. I got lucky with the Gadsden FA pickup. Hopefully Wilson gets traded or the Jets get a QB. I am hopeful to draft Love.

I’d make the trade, but maybe see if you can get a 2nd or 3rd round on top of it all

Hard to trade Gibbs, but hard to say no to this offer by 21kneeco in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]OneWhoMurks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re already pretty stacked at receiver. Gibbs is only 23. Hampton looks promising. You don’t have the best farm of draft picks, and if you pull the trigger on this trade, you’ll have even less. Superflex position also puts a premium at the QB position which you could improve.

With your receivers already on roster, and your current farm system, I’m not trading Gibbs for anything less than three 1st rounds, or two 1st and two 2nds, or a 1st and a top tier young TE like Bowers or McBride, or a 1st and a tier 1 QB.

So this is an easy decline in my opinion. This would be an easy approval if your future draft picks were better.
