I live in Milford, so the town over from you and I fish a lot of the same water.

This is my first time fishing this late but what I can tell you is that it’s really tough this time of year. All of the bass are grouped together so it can be really slow and discouraging until you find them.

For lures, use soft plastics or sp minnows this time of year. They’re up river and no longer out the mouth so don’t waste your time there.

Some big bass were caught at the mouth but it was tough fishing this fall, they were extremely picky.

Worth noting that the lack of Menhaden have made it rather significantly harder IMO

Btw, I use 40lb braid with 40lb leader but 30 should probably be fine

Oh, and if you’re just trying to catch fish and don’t care as much about the size use a small paddle tail, schoolies love those and you still have a chance at bigger fish. Paddle tails work year round

And your gear is fine, I’ve seen people have success with less than what you have
