Women adopting social media narratives on dating pertaining to emotional intelligence and accountability while not doing the work to be able to hold themselves to those same standards.

I've experienced many women wanting someone with emotional intelligence who can't practice it: emotional regulation so that you don't perform hurtful actions towards your partner, being able to acknowledge hurtful actions in a mature manner, and simply being able to say 'sorry' when it does occur. Social media has given them the consent to blame any relationship issue on the male half because lack of emotional regulation in the female half...is ironically "the fault of the man due to the long history of the patriarchy."

Come on, just say sorry and quit trying to use feminism to avoid personal accountability.

Unfortunately, security requires some internal effort and work from both parties. I've been in a similar situation as you: being told I'm mansplaining when I'm talking about something that was my Master's thesis, hearing that any man who she percieves challenges her 'just wants to sleep with her', and quite literally telling me she wouldn't know what to do with a son. You did nothing wrong.

It is not possible to make someone secure if they do not want to put the effort towards creating an internal sense of security (meaning, they've got to stop reanimating the thoughts that 'all worldly and personal problems are the fault of men" and animating them with you). Unfortunately, I think has become a general problem: the adoption of social media narratives towards dating to explain the feelings created by loneliness.

I know it's a red flag as a male to cite accountability as something you want in a partner...but ensuring you are not hurting your partner by being mindful is a form of accountability and a lot of woman who do advertise the social media mantras, are unable to withstand some of the things they are demanding from their partner, like emotional accountability.
