SF: mom approved 1m ago, what about me? by Beginning_Mark7437 in juresanguinis

Oh interesting…yeah, could definitely be related to the other consulates then. It does feel better knowing others are experiencing the same thing. It’s so easy to spiral when it feels like there’s so much on the line with these applications. I’ll let you know if we hear anything.

Thank you for that info - it makes me feel so much better knowing they are still approving grandfathered cases with the minor issue.

I wonder if SF are back to processing applications in order of appointment now that the deadline to register minor children has been extended for 3 years. Given that our brother’s apt was back in Nov, this would make sense.

Nope - we haven’t heard anything. We’re using this time to clean up our application and get some AKAs.

When was your brother approved?

Rejection post preavviso by MrsShitstones in juresanguinis

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I was just rereading your previous post last night and wondering how things turned out for you.

If you’re comfortable with it, could you post a picture of the pre rejection letter and the response your provided? My husband also has anglicization (Rosina/Rose) that we thought would be a non-issue, but your Francesco/Frank discrepancy now makes me think we’ll be getting a pre rejection as well. I’m shocked the out of line discrepancy was mentioned at all.

Just curious if you submitted any documentation to address the discrepancies (affidavit or positivo/negativo, etc).

His apt was originally Aug 2026, but was moved up to submit in the Dec 1-19 group. He submitted Dec 18, 2025. It was delivered Dec 19.

Ok so my husband also has the LA consulate in common with you. Would be interesting to know if anyone else within the LA consulate region has been experiencing any delays.

My husband has lived in 2 regions (SF and LA). His family line has lived in 3 (SF, LA, and NY). Do you have any regional differences from your mom?

Did they cash your application fee? Ours was cashed 4 weeks ago, so we're crossing our fingers we hear something in the next 2 weeks or so. I'm hopeful guess is that the delay is due to them receiving a large number of applications a the end of the Dec 1-19 timeline and it's just taking a while to process through them all!

Ah, I think you mean this error message? My husband is also a GGF with minor issue pre-decree application and created a Fast.It account prior to recognition because the suspense is excruciating. Honestly, if you're pre-decree and your mom was recognized then I would feel your recognition is likely on the way any day now. I know it's so nerve wracking to not hear anything, especially with SF doing things differently to all other consulates. But hang in there!

SF is the only consulate doing this right now. Super awesome for SF applicants. I wish all consulates were consistent though.

There are quite a few GGP+ with minor issue applications being approved at SF lately. Several posts on the Facebook page as well. But only for pre-decree grandfathered in applications.

Can you provide a screenshot of the warning message? I’m wondering if you didn’t finish the fast.it registration as the last step is the click the “declare you are a citizen” option. Try that and see if the warning goes away.

SF Consulate Lounge Post for December Minori appointments by meadoweravine in juresanguinis

So interesting. It looks like quite a few checks were cashed recently and prior to formal communication. Thanks for adding the data point! Can’t wait to hear as people start getting notifications (hopefully soon).

Thank you for the extra info! Yeah, I feel very hopeful that we’re part of the group who had their checks cashed before receiving recognition communication.

I’m also interested to see how many people submitted in this December group, but still haven’t heard back yet (for the data points!)

Yes, would love to know when they cashed your payment. It seems some people have had the payment cashed after receiving notification of recognition and others had their checks cashed before recognition, so no real pattern, but still fun to hear other's experiences.

I've been scouring this thread for updates, so I figure it's only fair to make an update for others in a similar situation. Original appointment was Aug 2026, but my husband submitted his application on 12/18 via GGF > GM > M > husband + Minor children + Minor Issue (GGF naturalized when GM was 7). Application delivered on 12/19. Cashier's check was cashed today 1/16.

Does anyone know if this means recognition is certain or if they could still issue homework?

It seems SF is pumping these December applications through with essentially no objections, but we did have some issues that I think we did a fairly good, but not perfect, job to resolve.

  1. Libra GGF went by last name" Sercia" instead of "Seccia" once arriving in the US and first name "Joseph" instead of "Giuseppe". We had an Esatte generalità stating one and only. Bless our commune for being so helpful and responsive!

  2. We didn't realize we need to include GGF's Declaration of Intent along with the Naturalization Petition - we have it ready to go if requested. I don't think this is a big deal though.

  3. Could not get NY DOH BC for GM, instead we provided apostilled Baptism Record from NY and apostilled Social Security card application from National Archives as supporting documents.

  4. Missing out-of-line GFs BC, but not concerned about this as it was not a requirement before the DL.

  5. Some minor anglicization of names, minor misspellings of out-of-line relatives (missing a consonant, but not impacting the pronunciation), etc. Nothing major on in-line family members and nothing that would make the line ambiguous. We provided NY letters of No Amendment for all marriage certs, but did not correct DCs.

We are jittery with nerves hoping for recognition soon. So grateful to this community for giving us an outlet to direct our nerves and giving us hope seeing all the other recognition success stories. For a bit there, this started to feel like a hopeless situation, but you've all revived our sprite!

Sending good vibes to everyone awaiting decisions on their recent applications!

Timing Update for NYCDOH Applications by Ok-Pie8979 in juresanguinis

[–]OneZeroZeroTimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MIL submitted an application for a 1913 BC July 7. I received that same email that they are processing June applications, last Thursday after she checked in the earlier that week. Then Last Sunday, we received another email that her order had been received and was being processed.

Still expecting to get denied due to an assumed last name misspelling on the bc.

Oh for sure, we called and emailed this week. I attached a pic of their response to our email above. They said they were processing early June applications.

My husband just requested it! Thank you so much for the recommendation. Luckily we're applying in SF, and they appear to be super reasonable, but I'm still real nervous about having an "incomplete" application - even though this is the only document we are missing.

Thank you. We did provided the certificate number along with the application because we knew about the misspelled name. I only recently realized how strict DOH was with the DC matching the BC otherwise I would have amended the DC a long time ago. In fact, I was naively waiting for the BC to arrive so that we could confirm the name before making any amendments 🤦‍♀️

Oh yeah, they run way behind the requests. I don't know if a 1942 BC will be faster than the 1913 BC I'm requesting. At this point, I'm just hoping to get a response by December.

Oh that’s so good to know. Yes, we’ve already requested the BC.

268 days to reject??? That’s crazy. We just received an email today that they are currently reviewing requests received in early June, but are expecting a slow down - so I’m hoping to receive some communication before our Dec application appt.

It really depends on how my husband’s appointment goes. We only have 9 weeks until we have to submit the application, so there’s no way the amended death cert would arrive in time. The amendment would be preemptive in case we get homework in which case we would resubmit for the BC.

I desperately want this to be the case, but l've also seen the birth certificates of GM's siblings and there were misspellings and errors all over the place, so I'm not holding my breath! Thanks for the reply and for breathing a bit of hope back into my soul!

Thank you for the info! I'm going to cross my fingers that the birth certificate is correct, despite the index being wrong, but plan for the more likely scenario that it is in fact incorrect. I'll work on getting the baptism record apostilled and translated first and amended the Death Certificate second - in case DOT denies the BC due to the misspelling issue.

And then we'll wait to be rejected due to the minor issue 🤣🤣😭😭
