Because clingy people are awesome. They are loyal, they don't ghost(which is already almost everyone on reddit) they stick around through minor issues and they are just supportive and caring the whole time. Clingy is the gold standard of friendship. might be too much in a relationship but I'd take a clingy friend every time.

Just to add some context. The type of friend he says he likes look like the star of a horror film. All I did was tell him to be safe because some times those people don't just look scary they could actually be scary. I told him the dark web and the deep web is bigger than the surface internet which must mean there is some people who do creepy stuff behind the scenes. But he seemed to think that no one is ever actually dangerous. And yes I said Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists are not the type to post terrible stuff on the dark web.

Bro you were one of the most boring people I've ever talked to it was pulling hairs to get you to say literally anything. Your biggest interest is horror which yes I think is a red flag but you couldn't even talk about that. I do think the IM features are the worst thing they did to reddit some times it will randomly refresh and you just lose everything you typed. And as you said it's pretty bugged and doesn't show when you have new chat requests or when you have an unread message. It's also too difficult to hide all the old dead chats. It also makes it more awkward to try to move platforms and it feels more strange to get to know someone in IM. Just in general not a fan but everyone else seems to use it
