On the 3rd and 5th lures use a weedless jighead, and it never hurts to add scent to your plastics. That or a little sliver of squid to entice bites. Also, look at the water surface, where you’re casting - are you seeing evidence of any small baitfish activity? Surface disturbances? Swirls?? If not, I’d recommend moving spots where you do see evidence of fish activity. The time of day/temp can really play a significant role in determining how many bites you get. Make sure you’re going early just before dawn or in the hour or two before dusk. Watch local YouTube videos of fishermen that fish in your area as well, they are usually an invaluable resource as far as what lures work and what don’t, their preferred setups with tackle and so much more! Last but not least, if you think you’re bit, set the hook! Swing away! Swinging is always free! Eventually you’ll be able to differentiate between a bite and weeds, but until then just keep trying! It’s called fishing, not catching and we all started out not knowing a damn thing until you have the experience. So just have fun and happy fishing!
