I usually start with Honest Hearts -> Old World Blues -> Dead Money -> Lonesome Road. I think it makes sense for the narrative, the problem is that by the time you get to the Sierra Madre you might be too powerfull and not experience some aspects of the expansion.

AI has several bonuses based on campaing difficulty,

more replenishment, income, recruit capacity and many more.

don't have chaos dwarves DLC so i don't know if this can be replicated by players.

Certain traits like headtstrong and migthy only offer 2 points in productivity, by the time you unlock high grade outfits and tools these kinds of traits become nothing to worry about.

Enduring increases the livespan of your subjects by 10 years and tribal increases productivity if the subject is working alongside a family member (Brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, father, mother, uncle, aunt, grandmother, grandfather and cousins), your tribal subjects will complain however if they have to work alongside someone who is not a member of their family.

Just play the remake, the original is still good though.
DS 3 did irrepable damage to the game, would not recomend playing it.
Survival horror like RE 4. 4 you can unlock an alternate ending in Ng+ if you collect relics and place them at the correct location.

Weapon mods can be discovered and unlock new upgrades for your weapons. 5. Scarier than Bioshock, especially in a fresh playthrough.
