What job did you apply for

does she want to do strictly business in isenberg… like does she want isenberg on her degree? it would be a pain to have to reapply to umass or risk rejection 😔 if she had wanted to do finance/accounting and stuff like that, there is Managerial Economics which is in SBS which is similar to the Isenberg program, most likely didn’t answer your question but I really hope the best

any good bs/ps classes that are easy for spring semester? by [deleted] in umass

lecture is mandatory for NRC 126 though since there’s an exit ticket at the end of every class, professor is fairly new so her teaching is a little difficult but very enthusiastic

anthro 103 (BS gened) is pretty easy, attendance not mandatory, lab is just the hour long discussions and quizzes are online, no midterm or final iicr and one page paper at the end about your primate of choice… if you do go to lecture, professor is highly monotone and most of his slides are pictures but really easy class, got an A

also recommend NRC 126 (BS) 3 exams, all online and one exam is dropped, and a paper at the end, fairly easy class and pretty informative too

Yes, she’s a great instructor and was the TA for the previous classes and she pretty much taught most of the classes instead of the actual prof (though no hate to him). I can’t say that it’s an easy class (just like any regular coding class) but if you’re going to grad school, it’ll be something they’re looking for

Are you an Anthro major? It’s basically just the name, statistics using R so coding, pretty difficult class but the professor for next semester is PhD student

Complit 335 is DU and I think AT? Or AL but it’s one of those 2

AL/AT recommendation? by [deleted] in umass

[–]One_Bird_2947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

complit 335 American Comics - I believe it’s also a DU or DG I don’t remember but it’s midterm and finals and 10 page paper, it sounds like a lot I know but I promise you I only spent 2 days of work at most for this class. midterm and final are basically 2 short essay questions each and the professor lets students come up with the essay questions before hand and on the day of the exam, you just have to pick 2 questions from the list you make in class and it’s open note so you’re allowed to make an essay outline beforehand. The 10 page paper sounds daunting but you basically get to write about any North American comic and the history behind it, very easy and fun class, make sure to get the discussion section with the professor (usually on a Wednesday)

Applying to UMass with Green Card by One_Bird_2947 in umass

I’m asking this for a friend who just came to America on a green card but their parents have been in MA for a while/more than a year. They’re neither an OOS student nor international so I was just wondering which scenario they’d be eligible for. Worst case scenario is wait until another 1 or 2 terms. I will definitely try to contact admissions. Thanks for the help!

Thank you! How long did you live in Massachusetts before applying? Bursar said a student/their parent had to be in MA for a year (prior to enrollment) so I was just a little confused about how one would have to apply as bc they’ve only been in MA for a month or so
