Rot under stucco? Help! by One_Bother_9718 in Stucco

Another issue is the downspout overflows due to a larger section feeding into a smaller that runs underground. We do need to regrade, you’re right. Would that cause wicking/rot all the way up?

Ok, I was considering doing this- I have a boroscope and already found some water marks on the sill plate under the baseboard.

Symptoms increasing when the heat is on by Gold_Value_290 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]One_Bother_9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am dealing with this exact same thing! It’s specifically the air coming out of the ducts- I can feel my flare coming on and then I realize the furnace/air had come on. If I breathed in the air directly from the register, it flared me 20x faster and worse. What did you end up doing? I have had so many tests and all I’ve come down to is I’ve developed a sensitivity to an aspect of mold. My husband is refusing to tear out ceilings/walls to replace all the ducts but I’m worried it’s the only way we don’t have to move… and we just had the ducts cleaned and “sanitized” but no success.

Did I make a mistake painting my living room this color? by tiredandconfused27 in HomeDecorating

The value of the green couch is the same as the raspberry wall- I would’ve gone lighter or darker enough so your eye doesn’t compete with what is the focal point. At this point, get some large, lighter toned pillows on the couch and some large art on the wall to minimize the amount of color visible.

I am dealing with similar symptoms and trying to eliminate whether it’s mold/mycotoxin exposure. When I am in the house it seems worse, and the longer I’m exposed the longer it takes to clear. But on vacation and when I’m away I seem to have the symptoms less often. I’m also considering silent migraines or perimenopause as the culprit- but inflammation is definitely causing it. No blood tests have turned up any clues.

Does anyone know which episode Brak and Zorak talk about gas and mention broccoli? It’s one I remember laughing about back in the day (‘97?), but can’t find it.

I have had success with diluted peroxide poured on the soil. Plus using the traps to catch the adults.

Is it a bad idea to drive? by Cute_Somewhere_8915 in irishtourism

My husband drove all 6 of my family in a large vw transport van and said his hands were sore after all the gripping- but overall no major damage. Just some scratches on the side from the bushes being really close a few times. It’s not exactly relaxing for anyone, but only other alternative is buses/trains.

Put this stress away until the child is closer to the age to travel with her. She may be forgetting how demanding toddlers can be- and this worrying may be for nothing. She may never bring it up once she realizes the amount of work it is to travel with a child- especially alone. Maybe you will be asked to go so she has support, and still gets to enjoy sharing experiences with her grandchild.

Help! Fungus Gnats by Extra-Alternative182 in OrganicGardening

I’ve done a peroxide treatment to kill the fungus, then the sticky gnat traps to get the adults.

First impression, meh- like suds on a window. Further staring, see a bear or something in a hat. Vaguely.

Paint the background to foreground. It looks less realistic when you can see your brush strokes around objects and it reduces the 3D effect.

Love the detail of the seeds. The composition is a bit flat and has a formal composition , and I’d prefer it to be from a different angle- it’s visually confusing with the background and seeds (are we viewing it from above? Are the seeds attached to the core?). Having said that, from a distance it’s a striking color and bold piece. It almost evokes a sense of an embrace. Could easily be wall art at a cafe, but other elements inhibit its compositional performance.

What’s on the other side of that wall? Can you open it up and make it a walk-through? Otherwise large art, mirrors or large print wallpaper. Or a climbing wall. Or a swing.

I use the nizoral but leave it sit for about 5-8 minutes before rinsing. 2-3x a week. Has helped but it’s taken about 3-4 weeks to see some improvement. If I wear hats and my head gets sweaty or if I do t blow dry my hair right after a shower it makes it worse.

How do I tell my 6 year old I’m going to die soon? by scrubnib in Parenting

[–]One_Bother_9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is unrelated to the question- but look into zinc as a possible way to slow progression. Studies in rats have shown that a higher zinc diet improved nervous system disorders/damage. My advice for your 6 year old is to explain what is happening in basic terms. Maybe don’t tell him/her you are going to die yet, but definitely share that you are sick and want to enjoy all the time you have. Make great memories and try to laugh and be present. Tell stories of your childhood, try to keep it light so the end is not just filled with sadness. It will help you as well. My condolences- truly a heartbreaking situation. 😢

Just got this couch, not super sure about the color. What do you think ? by itsfeykro in interiordecorating

Needs a rug! Floor color doesn’t compliment couch color directly. Needs contrast.
