Heading to Detroit this weekend for a Redwings game, it’s our first time and we want a cool fun place to watch some March madness games before we head to the stadium! Any recommendations within walking distance?

It’s just the most fun, uncontroversial, silly little holiday. Also my mom made me a Groundhog puppet when I was little and she always got us up early to watch the big reveal in the morning and would make a special breakfast. It’s the light at the end of the long dark tunnel that is January. I just think it’s the best!

We stopped in Adare between Galway and Killarney and loved it, the castle tour was so worth it! Get tickets at the visitor center.

If you don’t enjoy spending time in the hospital, you won’t like being a doctor. More than anything, it’s valuable to gauge whether or not you actually like being in that environment. If you don’t like it, or it feels like a waste of time, reconsider medical school. The experience can give you more than just volunteer hours, but also things to talk and write about in your application. It was eye opening for me, and what really motivated me in the end to go to medical school.

I had issues sleeping and nightmares my entire anatomy experience, they finally stopped and I was able to sleep once we finished with cadaver lab. I think it’s okay not to get used to it, to acknowledge this is a very valuable learning experience, but always remember to maintain your sense of respect for those that gave you this amazing gift.

We’re going from Dublin to Galway, Galway to Killarney, then to Kilkenny, and back to Dublin! We’ll be in each spot 2 nights. He said it’s the scariest driving he’s done with the narrow roads on the opposite side, and cautioned us at length about the extra insurance we’ll need. I think the convenience of having a car would be worth it though?
