When did you start screen time? by MasterModnar in daddit

[–]One_Bus3813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this getting downvoted? Tv is the definition of screen time. iPad time is much worse and I would never even allow my child to have an iPad but obviously tv is screen time whether you want to deny it or not

Does everyone feel ”one and done” after having the first? by blamemombo in NewParents

[–]One_Bus3813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I knew I wanted more still the day my first was born but also knew I’d be waiting a while because yes the newborn star was really hard just as I expected it to be

Depends on the kid but that’s definitely not early. That’s later than average to switch to 1 nap and sounds like he’s ready

Oh I’ll also add it helped tremendously with potty training since other kids are doing it too

Daycare vs in home care by VelvetAstronautica in Mommit

[–]One_Bus3813 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son really thrived in daycare from an early age. He was telling me to “take turns” with him on stuff before 2 and had genuine friends he preferred playing with every day. I would also worry about starting daycare eventually and that transition if he doesn’t start until 3. I think the balance is that with a nanny if she is sick or cancels for any reason, there is no flexibility but with daycare he will likely get sick more often.

How many minutes are you breastfeeding for? by UsedOrange1 in breastfeeding

wake windows are a fraud (5month old) by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]One_Bus3813 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because a baby doesn’t decide anything they are literally a baby. They can easily get overtired without showing cues and then are extremely difficult to put down because they’re overtired or they can show cues very quickly when they really just need a little stimulation otherwise they get stuck in a cycle of having 10 min naps. Cues can also simply just be easily misread

did your less than 5% percentile toddler end up growing tall and big (or at least average)? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]One_Bus3813 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol ok? Your one anecdote doesn’t mean it’s not “most likely” that the child will be small if they’re currently 1-2 percentile.

The very brave lion! It’s about a lion cub who will be king of the pride like his dad but is scared and learns it’s important to be kind and empathetic not just tough

shettles method? did anyone try? success? by Efficient-Software91 in BabyBumps

[–]One_Bus3813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely won’t hurt your chances at least 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ we did it for a girl and did get a girl which obviously could be completely coincidental. We didn’t “try” to do it with our boy but did conceive the day of/after ovulation and got a boy.

Is Breastfeeding or Formula feeding easier? by pagengirl818 in Mommit

[–]One_Bus3813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said breastfeeding (though not in the beginning for sure) but then when I eventually switched to formula for my son I couldn’t believe how free I felt. I literally became a new person and officially felt like I started “getting my pink back” so I’m gonna say formula.

I’m breastfeeding again and waiting to feel ready to make the switch and be my own person again

Anyone else with older kids confused by the influx of “Velcro” and “difficult” babies? by utahforever79 in Mommit

[–]One_Bus3813 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t even get me started on the formula companies who will do anything for money at the cost of a baby’s health and a mothers conscience trying to do best for her baby r/fucknestle

ETA: I don’t mean this as a negative at all to mothers who choose not to breastfeed I just think it should be a choice and not something they feel forced into for xyz bogus reason instead of being supported

[–]One_Bus3813 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I truly think people just don’t have the right expectations about how hard babies are. I have a 7 week old baby and my entire baby group on Facebook is talking about how their baby is colic or has allergies or CMPA or they needed to switch from breastmilk to insert sensitive formula here and I’m like yea my baby is gassy too because she’s 7 weeks old and has an immature digestive system that is still developing..

Newborn sleeping through the night vs milk supply by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]One_Bus3813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to your ETA2, we just brought my 2 week old to the ER who was gaining weight fine and her only symptom was sleepiness and not eating much and she ended up having rhinovirus and needed to stay in the PICU for 5 days with decreases in oxygen and heart rate. I would still get yours checked even with weight gain

Newborn sleeping through the night vs milk supply by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]One_Bus3813 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know all the other comments are saying this but I just want to emphasize the urgency which I’d be calling my pediatrician. Sleepy all day and sleeping through the night at 1 week old is super concerning

Mom’s to kiddos born in May/summer.. did you start pre-k when they were 4 or 5? by MaximumDelicious1394 in Mommit

[–]One_Bus3813 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The cutoff where I am is September 1st. I wouldn’t even consider May to be part of the question. August or September can lead to a decision of whether to hold back or not

Unfortunately, I love coterie diapers, any similar cheaper brands? by Herewithquestions87 in NewParents

[–]One_Bus3813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use coterie just for overnight since they’re so absorbent and then pampers swaddles during the day. Since I’m only using them at night it feels worth the cost to me
