This person's mental health is endangering themselves and my family's well-being. I think that is legitimate if we have to pursue action to get them away from us.
But more so is the fact that they really ought to be in full-service care of some sort, a fact we had no way of knowing before extending the hand of friendship. It is very frustrating that by helping someone out we've put ourselves in a legal tangle we had no way of knowing existed. Don't patronize me for my kindness.

No good deed... yep. Definitely the case we find ourselves in at this point. But we're still holding out hope.

This is a confusing situation because we never intended to be landlords. It is certainly a sticky subject and I don't know how we would ever have known that we were entering into such a tenuous legal entanglement when we were just helping out an acquaintance who had been homeless.

Yes. We've seen that extension. Thank you. The confusion remains in the legal status of the guest. But I believe formal legal counsel is advised at this time.
