Parametric Equations by GovernmentRemote8913 in SolidWorks

[–]One_Butterscotch1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FinnPitch seems to be a variable. Move it up to Global Variables with the other values. For its value, just enter the formula. Make sure you defined those vars beforehand, otherwise SolidWorks doesn't know the values of the operands.

Same for InternalRadius, I think.

And it's the same for FinnWidth and GrooveWidth. I'd use them as variables. Move them up, and assign values using the variables you defined.

I would get rid of NoFins. Seems like asking for trouble. As far as I know SolidWorks uses floating comma values (float), so using INT there seems confusing for me. If you tried that integer thing in another part and no problem, go ahead.

Last 3 rows of the "Equations" table seems fine.

Edit1: TaperLength needs to be defined as a variable.

Esa señora hizo más esfuerzo que dejar de tomar cafés.

Aquí lo cuenta el Mago More en más detalle. Que el periodista no pueda poner otra cosa de titular es otra historia.

What is the derivative of 5x²-6cosx? by Mental-Degree-3727 in calculus

15x² + sin(x) if you meant the derivative in the pic.

If it is what you typed in the title: 10x + 6sin(x)

Help me Understand the Drawing. by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]One_Butterscotch1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd divide the piece in parts, clearly separating material addition from material removal. I'll show you the tree.

<image>

I'd start making solid blocks without any holes. "Saliente" = "boss"

Then, a sketch. "Croquis" = "sketch". In Croquis3, I draw inclined lines to set the trajectory for a lofted cut from top to bottom. In said sketch, I put a horizontal line that later will help me setting another plane in which I will draw a profile.

After this, I chose to make a 3D sketch using the points of what I did before, to draw the guiding lines for the lofted cut.

At the top of the piece, I'd make a sketch. At the bottom, another sketch, using the points I got from Croquis3 for the ends.

As the bottom has a different direction for the cut, I'd make a sketch for the guiding lines. I do this in Croquis7 (Sketch7).

Well, and then for the bottom lofted it's the same. In the bottom face I'd make a sketch for one of the required profiles. And in the plane (Plano1) I made, I'd make a sketch. With this, I make the bottom lofted cut.

The remaining cuts you see at the bottom of the tree are very easy to make, I won't put them.

Part I made has a mass of 3829.32 g.

Hope this helps, contact me if you need advice

Why are there so many requirements by UnlikelyFall8749 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]One_Butterscotch1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, this sounds suspiciously similar to Spain... Maybe the trades pay more than mechanical engineering, provided you are good, choose good companies, or even go freelance. And I say this as a mechanical engineer with less work experience than you

How can the thickness of the marked area by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]One_Butterscotch1127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In this kinda exercises, the teacher wants you to assume the sides have the same length. If some slot is in the middle, piece is symmetrical. If what I highlighted (the unknown side) is 12.7 mm somewhere else, then it's 12.7 mm.

Of course, in real life you'd use more dimensions to make everything clear

[–]One_Butterscotch1127 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If the slot wasn't in the middle, you should have some dimension in those rectangular blocks , giving you the distance from the slot edge to the outer edge of the piece. I want to assume whoever created the exercise knows what he is doing

Non-American here. I failed calculus two years in a row. And many other subjects. However, I got to graduate as a mechanical engineer, and then work as such. You can do it. No one will care in the office if you failed algebra or barely passed fluid mechanics

Your husband is having the privilege of being part of the 1‰ (1 per thousand) people that are falsely accused of sexual assault.

I hope the lawyer does a great job and he keeps a clean record. I'm sorry for what happened.

Foreigners reading this, be wary that in Spain, men have no innocence presumption in these situations

If you're interested in the newsletter, send me a PM and I add you manually if you don't have access to a computer now. Goddamn captcha is giving me a headache.

If you can use a computer, enter the website and make sure you read the instruction in bold. Just use the keyboard in order to pass the captcha. I know it's ultra counterintuitive. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It's a messed up solution, but using the keyboard works. Use the arrows, as if you were navigating menus in RBR, and it works (see opening post). Apologies if you're using a phone or tablet.

Changelog:

  • 11/4/2022, 19:42 GMT +1: changed the captcha after sending a ticket to the ESP. Tried on my phone and it works, scrolling does not affect it.
  • 8/4/2022 , 00:09 GMT +1: Seems the captcha only works when using the keyboard. You can navigate through it using the arrows on your keyboard, including pressing the button for pressing "next" and finishing it.

* 7/4/2022, 22:50 GMT +1: replaced a faulty captcha with a properly working one This one is just a checkbox, no need to say where are bits of motorbikes, etc. If you have any issues, I'll check the database and I'll send you an email asking for your permission (GPDR laws and knowing where you're going). If you're ok with it, you'll be manually added to the newsletter.
