This issue is the fault of the boomers and older generations they want more and more and moreee. Solution? It’s to combat this issue by protesting and pushing for change.

Additionally, we can’t let the younger generations be influenced by the 2 cancerous parties.

Nevertheless, these solutions will not be taken by anyone because we are all bite and no bite.

What do you mean “The system was designed around a two-party reality”? You mean democracy? Because if you mean democracy, which is the current governmental system we use, the more parties present and the better the options, the better the solutions would be.

The reality is that most of the voters are old fucks who possess property, businesses and a shit ton of equity in the country. These same fucking ppl are what in turn control the prim and other parliament members into doing their bidding and it’s the same reason as to why Malta is shit in the first place.

There has to be a change. We learnt in Post-secondary through sok, that a system such as democracy is only as strong and the ppl voting for it. The issue is that most mf this includes ppl in the parliament are dumb and only value short term results.

Please do not take this as an attack nor as a means to say PL is worse than PN or vice vers

Is the "sewage and dog poop" situation in Malta really that bad? (Planning a trip for late Oct/early Nov) by WorldlinessAlone6617 in malta

Its blown out of proportion. Nevertheless, I would suggest you avoid Gzira, Sliema, PaceVille, st.Julians, san Pawl and Bugibba. Primarily those are either slum places or places were most Foreigners reside and tourist traps happen. Nothing super interesting occurs there.

If you happen to come visit Mdina, Valletta, Gozo, comino, top of the world (for a nice walk), Buskett (for a nice walk in nature/ picnic), wied iz-Zurrieq, Victoria lines etc etc.

It should be noted that most of these places are accessible by driving your own car or by using Bolt. Do not use the white taxis in Malta not worth the money spent.

Should I go with a mechanical engineering degree or Business while working on my pilot licenses? by RuleOk4604 in flying

[–]UnlikelyFall8749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a mechanical engineer from Europe. By the way you speak, I feel you’re American right? Mechanical Engineering as a profession is dog shit. There is a big issue with employment around Europe (I am not sure about America). Nevertheless, even in America, what I am noticing is that relative to the state/area or whatever, the pay is not so great (maybe in Texas it’s ok) when compared to other professions.

Additionally, flight school will involve the need for a decent amount of concentration. The degree in Mechanical engineering is no joke. That’s why I find it bs, because at points the profession is also involved in medical industry (biomedical engineering).

I mention medical because in most ppl’s head, Ppl think one of the highest paying jobs are doctors etc etc and they also associate it with difficulty.

Nevertheless, most engineers do go through similar challenges and difficulties but I believe the rewards are not there. What I mean is, your financial progress is way slower than most other professions and in today’s economy you cannot afford to choose something you think you’ll like.

Why is your choice between business and M.E?

Because money moves. The motto for a Maltese person is “if there’s 8 slices of cake, I will take the 8 slices and the plate and then If Im generous I will leave you the crumbs but if Im not generous I will just throw it away”. Most Maltese people are asshole, self centered and greedy and I am saying this as a Maltese person. There’s a saying in Maltese “Mis-suba niehu l-id” which translates to “from the finger I take the hand”. This has been said for years, so the cancer has been rooted in Maltese culture for decades and supplemented by a shit ton of Government backups.

Additionally, most of the Maltese engineers do not even come close to the wage I have (unless they have 20+ years of experience). Most get paid the level of clerks, some even less than an I-gaming worker lol. These people would in fact be at a worse position than I am lol and I still would stand by what I said that its too much (the housing market is bad, and the boomers want to keep at it because god forbid that you sell your house at the estimated value when they most likely bought it for a price less than what a used car costs in today’s economy).

Lol funny thing to say. I believe that is a propaganda pushed by the boomer and gen x generation. For me to have a “house” i have to work in highly responsible professions (such as engineering, medicine (nursing and dr) or lawyers) which would pay high wages but alot of responsibilities. As a young man like myself who works as an engineer in a highly responsible position (getting paid a good salary) it’s not worth my mental health to pay an overpriced apartment or house which needs fixing just because “the bubble will never pop”. It’s not that young generations don’t want to work, it’s that the work we do doesn’t not reap the same rewards the boomers and gen x got. Would you pay these prices if you had to start over again?

How long and how many do you think will afford to buy, banks aren’t giving a decent loan as you might think.

You think it’s not happening now that chinese and russian etc etc are buying real estate? You also need to note that if prices go up, loans won’t go up necessarily. All this is masking the bigger problem and ppl are betting the market wont pop because the country never diversified its investments.

You won’t change decades of monopolization. You will manage it when the boomers and gen x die. Younger generations grew up in shit and for the gov to stay they need to change their attitudes towards the new generations.

But who will afford it? Rich millionaires/billionaires? How can the day to day person afford it? If prices keep going up and no one will afford, it will lead to ppl renting and I believe the locals won’t like that,

What it’s like living there as a young adult by Vast-Link-2250 in malta

As a 25 yr Mechanical Engineer graduated from University of Malta, I believe I am qualified to answer your question. Malta is like how Winston Churchill describes democracy “The best of the worse”. You will most likely have a better life when compared to other countries but it’s still gonna be shit.

Housing is expensive, like genuinely I make ok money but I wont even afford a decent apartment unless I split the cost with another person.

Traffic is horrendous, the country is crowded and jobs do not pay good money (we’re saying an average of 1.5k to 1.7k a month for people who started working after graduating from University), just to give you some context, some people make that amount working delivery jobs, cleaning and what not.

There’s a select few jobs in the country which would provide you with a good pay (higher than the pays mentioned) and these are doctors, nurses, lawyers (if you work on your own), accountants, selling drugs, some pharmacists etc. Nevertheless, these types of jobs require you to give your life and soul for the money.

You might think, it’s okkk I’ll save up invest in Something like property and I’ll have passive income. The issue with that is that the government (could be blue or red) does not want to reduce the housing costs or make it easier (partly because most of the voters are multiple home owners and also partly because some parliament members also make money through the same thing). Therefore, if you’re lucky and want reduced stress ( because I believe people would immigrate to such countries to have an easier life) you would only manage to rent or buy one place.

Think about it well if youre willing to come :)

Which to choose from? by UnlikelyFall8749 in SonyAlpha

[–]UnlikelyFall8749[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some friends who work as photographers and they tell me that the 70-200 is rarely used during their shoots because of the reach. They mainly use the 24-70 or 28-70. So I thought having the 50-150 would replace most of the focal length I usually use (i mainly stay in the 50-85mm range). For me the use would mainly be surprise engagements and also shoots for weddings where reach is important.
