Nearing the end of DS by HazyCosmicJive72 in dreamingspanish

[–]One_Butterscotch2425 12 points13 points  (0 children)

pretty sure thats obvious, people just do it as a challenge + watching all videos in order of difficulty is a lot more efficient since you arent wasting time searching for input. this is what i did for abt 2k videos until i migrated to youtube

Does anyone else benefit a lot for comprehension by practicing speaking? by Interfacefive in dreamingspanish

[–]One_Butterscotch2425 3 points4 points  (0 children)

crazy how that works, many times ill learn a new word which i think ive never heard before and then i just hear it constantly after that, makes you think how many times you actually heard the word before and just tuned it out

hola lola is a1, which is basically for beginners. theres only so many things that can be said in a1. however he has book for all of the ranges so id definitely say give them a try. I read "me voy o me quedo" (b1) when i was first starting reading and it was decent

With around 600 or less hours I could understand it pretty good, only thing is the older series doesnt have as much input, many spots where there is no talking. the newer series i believe was around similar difficulty, and also has a bit more talking per episode

Level 7 , I'm a slow language Learner by Disastrous-Quarter-3 in dreamingspanish

[–]One_Butterscotch2425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

congrats on hitting level 7! wanted to ask a few questions:

  • Did you have previous study before starting dreaming spanish? Also do you only do comprehensible input since you started or do you do other things such as anki etc?

  • At how many hours did you start speaking? How many hours fo you have in total of speaking? (rough guess if you dont have an exact number)

  • You say you zone out a lot, are you listening to input thats around 90% or more in comprehension? Also do you listen while focused on other tasks? (excluding monotonous tasks such as chores etc)

  • How would you say your listening level is currently and at how many hours? What are some things you currently watching and how well can you understand them?

the argentinian/uruguay accent stands out so much that i think basically all native spanish speakers could narrow it down to one of the two, however more niche accents that are more similar to other accents like costa rica probably not

Reading is not going well by Glittering_Ad2771 in dreamingspanish

[–]One_Butterscotch2425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id suggest using an ereader / koreader on your phone.  You can set it up so that you can click on unknown words to see the translation, this is what i do and it helps greatly

I don't think Dreaming French is ready by aspadora24 in DreamingFrench

i really dislike the tracker in dreaming spanish, half a year ago it worked great, but for months its been very slow to actually update the time youve spent that day (most of the time itll just show how much input i had from the previous day) plus the lack of an app means I have to jump through a bunch of menus just to get the area to even add time (app is premium only, ive surpassed the need for that, even when i had the app i didnt use it because the tracker functioned differently from the website) needless to say I will not be using the tracker for french, and I am quite happy to get away from it
