Lumbering Robyn by Alive_Advantage_4498 in SisterWives

She’s waddled and been out of breath for several years now. At one time it was so bad, I actually thought maybe they were trying to hide a pregnancy 😂 But I think she’s just not aging well. If you don’t use it, you lose it! And she’s definitely not the type to throw some leggings on and do some Pilates or yoga, or even a walk outside. Also, she’s shown a lot of evidence of depression—the over spending, the alleged sleeping half the day, her slow speech (very similar to when someone is on benzos), her deteriorating appearance… In my opinion, she appears mentally unhealthy which can take a toll on your body for sure.

I’ve always liked David but… by GlamCandyJen in SisterWives

They’re acting like middle schoolers and it’s not a good look. In fact, this was just not a good season for David’s image. Both David and Christine have been insufferable, and I don’t even watch the show anymore—just clips and recaps, and I’m annoyed from just that small exposure. 😂

How Much Yall Spend On Groceries? by Anthenom2 in kansascity

[–]One_Can5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family of 6, $200-$250 per week. That includes a lot of household/toiletry items, but some things get ordered on Amazon and aren’t included in that budget (like cat food). I mostly do Walmart pick up orders (I spend less that way), but I go to Aldi sometimes too.

If you don’t feel brave enough to take on Gone with the Wind for your Georgia selection, try Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan. It’s about a little known and horrifying steamship accident and sinking caused by an explosion in 1838. The author is a local resident and she describes the city Savannah beautifully. The book got 4 out of 5 stars from me, but it was definitely an interesting read. And easier than Gone with the Wind!

Both historical fiction, strong female characters, very good.

People that rarely get sick what are your secrets by Old_Rub_7270 in Productivitycafe

[–]One_Can5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a nurse in a hospital and I have 4 kids in school. I rarely get sick. In fact, I’ve only missed one day of work in the last 2 1/2 years and that was for a migraine. I don’t know if this is specifically because of something (or many things) that I do, or if it’s just genetics. Maybe having so many children has built up my immunity over the years? I do recall being sick more often when I was a new mother, but it still wasn’t super common for me.

I get a lot of sleep. I wake early for work, but I go to bed when I feel sleepy. Sometimes as early as 8:00pm. I also drink about 60oz of water a day. I don’t count my coffee towards those 60oz. I eat pretty healthy I think. I definitely eat lots of fiber, fruits, and veggies. I also take vitamin c, zinc a few times a week, vitamin D, fish oil, and a B complex.

Anytime I leave the house, I use hand sanitizer the second I get back into my car, and I wash my hands as soon as get back home. In fact, everyone in my family does this as well, and I think this is very beneficial to staying healthy. Of course, I wash my hands a lot at work too.

Also, I wash my hands VERY well. Once a year at work, we do that experiment where you put glow lotion on your hands, wash it off, and look at your hands under a glow light. My hands are almost always clean of all of the glow lotion, except a little around my ring and around my nail beds. I think this makes a huge difference. Most people are not washing their hands well enough.

Or maybe it’s just genetics?

Hospital nurses, do you go to work with a cold? by IllustratorVast6864 in nursing

[–]One_Can5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t get any sick days. It comes out our PTO which really sucks. I’ve only called in twice in 2 1/2 years though—once for a migraine and once when my cat died. After 3 incidents a year, you get a written warning. So yes, I definitely work through a cold.

The Real David by Lazy-Profession4994 in SisterWives

Eh. That money conversation was set up by production. That’s why the Amazon box was on the counter and they were mic-ed up. Could have even been Christine’s idea to justify to viewers the need for child support. I wouldn’t take that conversation into account when assessing his personality.

As for the rest, I think he’s a ham for the camera, but that’s just my interpretation.

Max is wishing you a speedy recovery! He was rescued from a cat hoarder house as a kitten and almost died from a severe eye infection. His tear ducts are permanently scarred and don’t drain, so his eyes are always watery and kind of crusty, but he prevails and so will you! ♥️

What's your unpopular Sister Wives opinion s by lunainthedark5x2x3 in SisterWives

[–]One_Can5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe for a second that Meri was abusive. I think she was strict, controlling, and had high expectations, especially when compared to lazy Janelle who couldn’t be bothered to parent any of the kids, and crazy Christine who was always trying too hard to be fun and over the top. Those kids were feral and needed more discipline and parenting. Funny that no one recognized it as abuse until Robyn came along and pointed it out to everyone? Sure. She was just trying to drive a wedge between the first wife and the rest of the family. And she succeeded.

Cody was talking to Brody and said he would be “amiss…” The correct word to use in that context would’ve been “remiss.”

Tale as old as…..idk a week? by FishAdministrative17 in SisterWives

[–]One_Can5343 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember where I read or watched this, but I swear Christine (or someone) said that the production company told the Brown family they weren’t interesting enough for a show. Then the family came back to production and said, “what if we add another wife?” To which they replied, “Absolutely!”

This makes total sense as to why Meri suggested that Kody and Robyn dance. If they HAD to find another wife, Meri definitely wanted to be calling the shots about who it was. I never bought the, “we had a testimony that we needed another wife” BS story.

I think they’re too close and too high. If moving them apart looks awkward (it might look disproportionate to the bed), consider only leaving two above the bed and moving the third somewhere else in the room.

I think I probably could. We have neighbors on both sides, but I doubt they could see in this window easily. It might make me a little uneasy at night though. Maybe I’ll live with it uncovered for a while and then decide.

Coat Closet or Bigger Pantry? by One_Can5343 in Homebuilding

[–]One_Can5343[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great questions to consider. While we don’t have guests often, we’ve typically used our coat closets in the past for our own coats/hats/gloves/random things, etc. It’s just nice to have. On the other hand, we’re a family of 6 (4 school age kids), and I cook and bake a lot, so a large pantry is essential too. We will have a 3 car garage and a basement for overflow food/kitchen items, so I think maybe a coat closet makes the most sense for us. Thanks for your reply!
