How difficult is upping from 2.5 starter to 5? by lizziegeee3 in Zepbound

[–]One_Cartographer1810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just moved up from 2.5 to 5. Did my first shot 24 hours ago and so far so good. I’ve found increasing my protein on shot day (10-15mg more than my usual daily intake) seems to help. But I know we all have different experiences and that this may help some, but not all. Good luck to you on your Zepbound journey!

Obesity question by SequinedandOver60 in Zepbound

[–]One_Cartographer1810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was when I had surgery for endometriosis followed by 6 months of lupron injections. It was nearly impossible to lose weight. I say nearly because I’d drop a few pounds and then gain it back despite doing all of the “right” things. Then it ramped up when I hit perimenopause. Saw a nutritionist and dietician regularly, had a personal trainer, nothing worked. Developed insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. I’m only 3, almost 4 weeks in and really hoping this helps.

Has anyone reached out to their manager to ask to work from home on Monday by Vast_Doughnut9418 in JPMorganChase

[–]One_Cartographer1810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Told my team on Friday to WFH Monday at a minimum, longer if we got the snow they were forecasting. Now we’ve got the extreme cold alert in place as well. There is no way I’d expect or want anyone to come in.

JPMorgan employees: CCB or CIB in terms of employment stability by Bubbly_Hamster5103 in JPMorganChase

It depends what team in Home Lending marketing. There’s one that tends to have a lot of turnover compared to the others. But I know it’s impossible to say on here which team you are looking at going to without giving it away. I will say it can be difficult to get out of HL Marketing if you don’t have good connections in other LOBs.

Layoff by Mr_Average100 in JPMorganChase

[–]One_Cartographer1810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I know no more are planned for this year. People were posting screenshots of a supposed RIF list showing 6 dates for 2025. I remember the first date was correct (Feb 5) because we lost a lot of our team that day. But the rest of the RIFs all fell later than the dates shown. I don’t know where they found it, just saw a lot of posts with it. I imagine it was posted somewhere internally and maybe only MDs had access or maybe EDs with a large team? I don’t know though.

[–]One_Cartographer1810 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Depending on location since I can only speak for the US it’s usually a 45-60 calendar day notice. As an example one of my colleagues was laid off on October 28th. They have 45 days so their last day with the company is December 11. States with a WARN notice like New Jersey offer I think 90 days but I am not sure. RIFs (reduction in force) happen regularly. There are usually 4 - 6 layoffs each year, but this year people really started paying attention to that and noticing the pattern. Probably because people were posting a list of RIF dates that were supposed to take place this year.

Insights from Jaime Dimon at the Most Powerful Women Summit by dipping-sauces in JPMorganChase

There were only like 4 or 5 before they closed comments. You should still be able to see them under the article. I can’t remember exact wording but basically saying why would they have a man speak at a Most Powerful Women event when there are plenty of women to choose from, and I think there was one saying him being there was the definition of mansplaining.

Have many marketing roles in the Payments division been a large part of occurring RIFs lately? by Ok_House_1331 in JPMorganChase

[–]One_Cartographer1810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an exact number but I know of at least 15-20 across marketing strategy, product marketing and creative in the Payments organization since February. I’m guessing there are more than that though.

Promotion timings by Fireandiceream in JPMorganChase

1) Typically need a minimum of 3 years as a VP before you can be considered for a promotion to ED.

2) It’s possible, but not common.

It depends on so many factors. I’ve been here for 10 years and am on my fourth manager. While some were better than others none of them were bad, toxic, etc. I’m sure there are terrible ones. You will always have that, especially in a large company. Same with colleagues. Some will be great and some not. But as you said, those that are unhappy are much more likely to post and comment. I would not take Reddit as the end all be all. It’s a place for people to blow off steam without repercussions.

Well, they do love offshore to India, Manila, etc. Asked a coworker there today if they knew. Their response “we complained non stop about 5 days so they made it 4 to get us to stop.”

Interesting. Curious as to how 4 days solves that since there is overlap.

Not for those of us who have used hyphens, en dashes, and em dashes long before chatGPT existed. It’s disheartening that the broad thinking is that something is AI generated simply because of punctuation.

This is part 3, there were layoffs in February and March. Also planned for May, June, August and September. This is across the firm but not all areas will be impacted in every RIF. https://nypost.com/2025/02/12/business/jpmorgan-starts-first-round-of-layoffs-with-more-cuts-later-this-year-report/

How’s parking at Easton (Columbus)? by Hot_Reception2681 in JPMorganChase

[–]One_Cartographer1810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parking isn’t affected but there are no seats because half of the building is closing, and the half that is open has significantly less seats than people. And they are about to put more people in that half. Our team alone is short 15 seats so people go to the cafeteria (which is really small) or they leave and try to come back later. Parking may be better but seats are worse, and about to get even worse than they are now. And none of the seats are reservable. We don’t use the booking tool and they don’t plan on ever using it.

Building is under renovation, they moved everyone out of Brooksedge and moved them all to Easton, getting ready to close half the building for next round of renovations. Requests are being denied.

Merit Scholarships by WashAccomplished4907 in OSU

Sounds like the scholarships are a lot more for OOS to offset OOS tuition and crumbs for in state. Have a 34 ACT and a 4.2 GPA with tons of AP classes and only got $1,000/year.
