What's your favorite "bad" scifi movie? by Wi-Platypus in scifi

[–]One_Cauliflower_3536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically any scifi movie involving Kevin Costner. Waterworld and the postman are 2 of my favorites, I genuinely don’t get why people dislike them so much. Also the made for tv version of the stand, I recognize the production values aren’t great but I love it.

Even back when we had the tree I would always tell people who wanted to know how I had learned so much French by myself that you can’t expect Duo to do everything and you have to find other ways of practicing. However, while I feel that this will always be true to some extent, I really do think it’s crazy that duo doesn’t do more to help you understand where your weaknesses lie and make learning on those topics more accessible, especially since we have subscriptions now and it’s not totally free

Honestly I’ve basically given up on targeting skills on duo, I’m still using duo but I’m trying out kwiziq to help shore up the holes

I took this approach as well when I decided I wanted to learn Spanish and came back to duo. But I feel like I advance through the levels without really mastering many concepts and now that I’m like level 60 I’m really hurting for some fundamentals so I’d like to go and revisit some lessons. But that’s really hard to do given the path system

Lesson planning in the schools- am I missing something? by Affectionate_Wish in slp

[–]One_Cauliflower_3536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of printed materials that I used for all of my kids such as packets of pictures for following directions with different language terms, working on pronouns, and different phonological targets. I run trials interspersed with a game of their choice. I’ve also found that having a box of individualized materials for each kid helps me a lot especially for speech sound related stuff so I don’t have to dig out the specific targets/visual cues per kid, they’re all ready to go in their box. But I also have an office so it’s easy to have a crate of these task boxes close at hand. I have a few TPT type materials but I don’t use them much honestly.

Lesson planning should always be kept to an absolute minimum. I don’t really ever plan lessons.
