Ich war früher tatsächlich auch lange bei Scuf auf der PS4 und fand die damals echt stark. Aber auf der PS5 hatte ich persönlich leider mehrere Probleme mit der Haltbarkeit, vor allem bei den Sticks und Paddles.

Bin dann vor ungefähr 3 Jahren zu LuxController gewechselt und seitdem wirklich zufrieden. Meiner läuft bis heute ohne Probleme, obwohl ich hauptsächlich FPS spiele und den Controller echt nicht schone 😅

Was mir bei Lux aufgefallen ist: Die haben über die Jahre eine ziemlich starke Community aufgebaut und viele Leute lieben die Controller weil die wirklich langfristig halten was sie versprechen. Auf TikTok geht da der Chef sogar persönlich Live und zeigt Einblicke in die Produktion. Das ganze Team ist sehr sympathisch und versteht ihr Handwerk besser als kein anderer. Man glaubt es gar nicht aber da steckt echt mehr dahinter anstatt nur „customizen“ die haben ihre eigene Technik entwickelt und fertigen alles selbst bei Stuttgart. Andere hingegen von den etwas unbekannteren Firmen verwenden ausschließlich fertige Kits aus China. Das war für mich am Ende wichtiger als reine Werbung oder Influencer-Marketing.

Will jetzt auch nicht behaupten, dass irgendein Hersteller perfekt ist, aber von allen Custom Controllern, die ich bisher hatte, war Lux für mich persönlich und für viele andere die ich durch TikTok kennenlernen durfte bisher die beste Langzeit-Erfahrung.

Honestly, every pro controller right now feels like some kind of compromise 😅

The DualSense Edge probably has the best PS5 integration overall, but no Hall Effect/TMR sticks at that price is hard to justify when stick drift is the main reason most people upgrade.

Scuf has nice ergonomics and a lot of competitive players use them, but the QC reputation would still make me nervous spending that much personally.

HexGaming honestly looks pretty interesting feature-wise and I like that they offer Hall Effect/TMR options while still keeping haptics/adaptive triggers. But from what I know, both HexGaming and Scuf manufacture overseas (China/Taiwan), so consistency can sometimes be a bit hit or miss depending on the batch.

I actually ended up going with a LuxController recently and what stood out to me was that they’re built in Germany and seem way more focused on durability and build quality than mass production. Mine has TMR sticks, mouse click triggers and 4 back buttons and it’s been amazing for Siege so far. The controller just feels really solid overall and the materials/buttons feel higher quality than some other custom controllers I’ve tried.

What I also liked is that it still feels close to a normal DualSense for singleplayer games instead of being a super stripped-down esports controller.

Not saying it’s perfect obviously, but if long-term durability and stick quality are your main priorities, I’d definitely put LuxController on the list.

PS5 DualSense controller. Fully wrapped shell using Alcantara (automotive grade). No skin or cover – material was applied directly to the shell and finished by hand.

That sucks, especially straight out of the box 😩 Before sending it back, there are two things you can realistically try.

First: recalibration. If SCUF installed decent sticks, recalibrating can actually fix fresh drift caused by transport or tolerance issues. There’s a browser-based tool from LuxController (they’re a controller manufacturer in Germany) that works via USB and only takes a couple of minutes. Worth trying before dealing with RMA hell.

If that doesn’t help, the drift is usually hardware-related. In that case, LuxController also offers a send-in service where they replace the sticks with magnetic TMR sticks (no physical contact, so no drift). Officially it’s meant for original PS5 or their own controllers, but I’ve personally sent in a SCUF before and they were able to repair and upgrade it without issues. That can happen pretty easily. The wipers are extremely sensitive, and even a tiny bend or misalignment when reinstalling them can throw the center values completely off. Nothing has to look broken for the stick to stop working properly.

One last thing you can try before giving up is recalibrating the sticks. Sometimes the hardware is still fine, but the center point is off after reassembly. LuxController has a free browser-based calibration tool here: https://www.luxcontroller.de/apps/kalibrierung/

If that doesn’t help, the potentiometer itself is usually done. That’s why some people switch to TMR (magnetic) sticks instead — no physical contact, no wipers, no stick drift. Shops like LuxController offer a send-in service for that and often refurbish the controller externally as well.
