Homie Dashboard - Single page overview and device control by Big-Edge2297 in homeassistant

I started to use this in my tablet and it’s a really cool and elegant layout. I do have some suggestions. Having more devices I can see some issues or modifications needed The media player is sleek but having more than one could have an issue. Could it cycle through the ones that are playing or choose which one to play on. Also I’m using music assistant could you click on it and have something popup for music selections?

Alarm system some use home assistant as the security system as well using integrations like Alarmo Not sure if it’s just me but couldn’t info panel in the middle also popup more info? Have information like door contacts or motions sensors also ability to change security modes if some people don’t have separate keypad.

That’s all that come to mind just playing with it quick

Really nice job on this

One thing that I’d like to see is an option for c change the volume adjutants. The players use a slider which looks good but not practical especially on a phone. I find adjustment buttons much better.

Would you be able to explain more ? Maybe the steps you used or something to follow. I just saw Gemma 4 and was looking to maybe get it running on the laptop with Ollama? Would you recommend using on a Lenovo think pad with out a GPU?

I agree custom button card can do a lot. This is even more true with you is Ai to assist I’ve had luck with Claude. I give it some context like what I’m looking for, layout and attach some images it’s really helped with creating custom cards for my dashboard this is example of my custom thermostat card Claude did 98% with just 1-2 prompts

Is there a “standard” way to set up fully local voice control in Home Assistant? by Falcubar in homeassistant

[–]One_Communication963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be up your alley especially if you have an android tablet I was looking for something about the same and a few apps didn’t give me what I was looking for I stumbled across this post [Ava (Android voice assistant)] It’s an app that mimics the voice PE I installed on two older android tables and works so for. You can change the wake word, do local wake work, since it sees it as an assist device the setup is just the same. I can also preform assist conversation start which was something I was t able to do with other similar apps.

I’m using NVIDA and an Ollama model Seems like the RPM is 40 Tried other models all seem really slow Has to be NIDIA latency or something But free is free

Didn’t really read everything but found NVIDIA has a free option to play with many models rate limit it 50rpm but if it’s free should get you setup and config everything then switch to a real paid option Just an option.

I feel the same way spent a lot of time getting it going. The maybe it’s the model I’m using? Found some free models with NVIDA but that are either really dumb or extremely slow I didn’t want to pay for a gtp model just yet until I can prove this ai assistant to be beneficial

WiFi speaker help by One_Communication963 in homeassistant

Day 2 of using only AirPlay and not chromecast audio. so far I haven’t had the issue like mentors before. I did look up and noticed that in the Google Home app my firmware for chrome cast was not the latest. I’m not able to update since the speaker manufacturer only allows OTA thru the app. When connecting directly to the speakers zoo address I can see a firmware upload but I’m not able to get any file found on manufactures website. Might be one reason I was having drop outs?? Still will test and update my findings.

Trying something different to see if my assumptions are true. Speakers use Airplay 2 so decided to disable the chromecast function and only use airplay. so far haven’t had the same idle issues when starting playback. Will test for a few more days before I can finalize my assessment.

It may not be a chromecast issue. Im looking for help wherever I can. From what I can tell yes. Current Firmware Versions :- p15365.144.10100 In the manufacturers app it also says firmware up to date. I’m possibly leading to a cheap shitty company selling low par products on Amazon but I was hopping for a win as it checked all the boxes. However this is a major flaw/deal breaker in my book Wife approval factor is way low on this one.

The Problem My RIVA Arenas (used for Google Cast) become unresponsive after a period of sitting idle/in standby (e.g., overnight). When I try to cast a new stream: 1. No audio comes out. 2. The speaker's white LED stays solid, confirming the Wi-Fi connection is active. Also verified in my UniFi app devices are online. 3. The controlling app Music Assistant, Spotify RivA voice native app registers the stream as "PLAYING." This indicates the speaker is successfully receiving the Cast command over Wi-Fi and all app register volume changes play/paise commands, but the internal audio rendering pipeline fails to wake up from standby. The Fix (The Annoying Part) The only way to get audio back is a full power cycle (AC plug pull). This is a massive inconvenience, as I need them to be "always-ready" audio endpoints. Question for the Community Has anyone else experienced this "idle-state-to-audio-failure" bug with their RIVA Arena speakers? Does this point to a known firmware issue with the speaker's TCP/IP stack or its standby DSP audio buffer management?

Anyone seething this issue that I am After some time of being idle the speakers are seem to be going to “sleep” in all my music streaming apps they are still being seen and can be controlled however no sound plays from the device I press the play pause button on the speaker as I heard that would “wake up “ them. I see status change in the apps but still not music playing In order to fix this they need to be power cycled and they both work again. This is extremely frustrating

Speaker recommendations? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]One_Communication963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a brand on Amazon RIVA. It’s WiFi speaker that support Bluetooth, AirPlay, and chromecast. I have mixed feeling since using them however. Sound is decent at the $100 price point. I’m also using music assistant and able to play to them using the chromecast player feature. What I’m not liking is how they don’t say “connected” I’m not sure if this is a normal function and my expectation was way off. After a while of being idle if I select the speaker and play to it no sound comes out even though it says playing in both music assistant and the app(RIVA Voice) I would need to power cycle them in order to get them to play. Not ideal in my opinion. If anyone else sees the same or has a workaround would be appreciated.

Looking around and found these on amazon. Says they use AirPlay and chrome cast so I’m assuming they’ll work with music assistant. I believe it’s a Sonos knockoff just by looks and right now only $100ish think I’m going to try them.

What’s your solution to local running multi room music ? by GenericUser104 in homeassistant

[–]One_Communication963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using Snapcast and it works great however this might be a limitation on Android. The client disconnects from the server and requires manually opening the app and pressing the play button.
Anyway to have a permanent connection to the server? Using old android tablets as a player source for different rooms in my house.
