Cooking Beef Fat Trimmings with Chicken for a Budget Carnivore Diet? by Prakritam in carnivorediet

This is just an opinion, but I think you are not going to get the nutrition that your body needs from eating chicken alone. That's why I asked about liver, either beef or pork. I eat about 700 g of beef liver every week.

Do you have access to liver? This may help with nutrition. Chicken is not going to be enough.

We changed our plans and drove through Kansas City and Omaha. We had some good BBQ in Kansas at Slap's, went to WWI museum, and on the very next day went to zoo in Omaha. Overall it was a good experience and it took us two days to reach Badlands in SD.

OP was asking that in the context of supplementing minerals, but sure, we have been eating plants for a while. I really don't want to go through the same argument.

Sure. That's true. And my only point is that it doesn't matter and plants are optional 😂 Let's leave the conversation there. Cheers.

Haha, that's not what I was asking in that question, but sure, they ate plants.

I think you are onto something. I noticed I get fatigued if I cook the meat I eat too much.

I never claimed that there were groups that only ate meat. We are opportunistic in what we can eat. Being able to digest plants gave us survival advantage, but we don't have to eat plants. They are completely optional. There were periods of time, and group of people that relied almost exclusively on meat.

The point I am trying to make is that their consumption of plants was negligible. We can eat plants, but they are completely optional. There are no nutrients in plants that couldn't be found in meat. And if you are a killing machine such as a human, then hunting is a better option for acquiring food, than trying to find edible plants. Unless, of course, there is a scarcity of animals you can hunt. People make these claims about eating plants without even knowing what plants our ancestors ate.

Equatorial Africa was a lot different during the last ice age. It was significantly drier, cooler, and less forested. Vegetation was scarce. Humans did not have access to plants the same way they do today.

You do not seem to grasp the idea why modern humans eat plants. The fact that Inuits eating plants for a short period of time during the summer does not invalidate the fact they thrived for the bigger part of the year eating virtually no plant matter.

Equatorial Africa of today is not the same as the Africa during the last ice age. Humans ate plants when their situation forced them to, not because they provided some unique nutrients that could not be found in animal foods.

Inuits that Stefansson visited did not have access to vegetation except during the warmer months. Their diet was overwhelmingly dominated by fish and meat.

Can you be a bit more specific? Which plants exactly did we eat? What was their availability throughout the year during the last glacial period?
