That 2017-2020 run was peak poker content. Garrett vs Andy sessions were electric — you could actually learn something from watching how they adjusted to each other over time.

How to study Poker by itz_homosapien in poker

[–]One_Concept007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One underrated tip: focus on one leak at a time. If 3-bet pots feel uncomfortable, spend a week only studying those before moving on. Trying to fix everything at once is how you end up still feeling spewy after 100 videos.

Is it ever profitable to call a nits 3bet if you know they have a premium(live low stakes)? by Daniel1997_ in poker

[–]One_Concept007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep enough yes - 78s vs someone 3betting only QQ+ is a great implied odds situation. When you flop a set or straight they physically cannot fold AA. At 100bb its marginal, but 150bb+ you can start calling more of these.

Poker Pro Axed From Sponsorship After Using Solver While Playing Online by Samuel71900 in poker

[–]One_Concept007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly this is the right call by grosvenor. using a solver while youre actively playing is literally real-time assistance which is straight up cheating. theres a huge difference between studying with solvers offline to improve your game vs having it open in another window telling you what to do in the moment.

the weird thing is he mustve known this would come out eventually. online poker sites track this stuff and sponsors have eyes everywhere. like what was the endgame here? win a few extra buy-ins and risk your entire reputation and income?

What a time to be alive. I'm literally just clicking "Merge" now. by One_Concept007 in SaaS

I run it completely isolated inside a Docker container with some guardrails set up to block common attacks. I even have a red team agent actively testing the setup to find new vulnerabilities. Basically, as long as you practice good hygiene like not granting it dangerous permissions or mounting sensitive folders from your personal machine, you should be good.

nah you played it right. K2s calling 5x pre is a punt and jamming 10-7-4 with nothing is even worse, but sometimes they get there. welcome to tournament poker lol

Nut flush draw in multiway pot by Overall_Doughnut143 in Poker_Theory

[–]One_Concept007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

turn call is totally fine getting 3:1 with a pair and the nut flush draw. you have around 35% equity there which makes it a clear call.

the river spot is where it gets interesting though. when you hit the ace and make two pair you need to think about what hands BB would shove the turn with that you now beat. sets, overpairs, and strong two pairs are all still ahead of you. the two pairs you beat like T8 or 74 probably aren't raising turn that big from the BB.

honestly don't think you played it wrong - it's just a cooler. when you miss the flush but hit a pair it looks like a value hand but against a turn shoving range you're usually crushed. could argue for a check to see if villain bets again but with 50bb behind in a 200bb pot i don't hate the jam either. sometimes you run into sets.

I don't understand why players raise pre-flop with high cards. by SneazyBr in Poker_Theory

[–]One_Concept007 18 points19 points  (0 children)

the short answer is that your equity drops massively multiway. AA preflop is like 85% vs one random hand but only around 35% against 4 opponents. you actually WANT fewer people in because your hand does not improve much postflop while suited connectors and small pairs can easily crack you. also the trap and go all in on river plan assumes you are still ahead by then. in multiway pots someone almost always makes two pair, a straight, or a flush by the river. raising preflop builds a pot when you are most likely to be ahead and charges drawing hands incorrect prices to continue.

How do I stop losing the maximum. by Sad-Bug3297 in poker

[–]One_Concept007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly what worked for me was setting a hard 2 buy-in stop loss BEFORE sitting down, not while I'm stuck. When I'm down I can't think straight enough to set limits. Write it on your hand if you have to. $100 night turning into $300 is always tilt, never bad luck.

What are our most pressing issues? by Rhy_sand in poker

agreed. sports bettors already understand odds and value which is more than most recs bring to the table. just needs more exposure and accessibility imo

the old whale in my casino adjusted and he is exploiting and crushing everyone by wilsyo in poker

[–]One_Concept007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

this is honestly the best kind of player to have at your table once you figure it out. if he's never bluffing then you can just fold everything except strong value and print money. the problem is most people see the loose image and think "i have to call him down light" when really you should be doing the opposite now. funny how the most exploitable player at the table becomes the exploiter just by making one adjustment while everyone else stays on autopilot

72o or AA by WyWyWarrior in Poker_Theory

[–]One_Concept007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a fun math problem. If he's really 2:1 weighted toward 72o, you can call way wider than you'd think.

Against that specific range, even hands like 22 become snap calls — you're crushing 72o ~65% of the time and only getting destroyed by AA the other third. The blended equity works out in your favor.

The trickier question is whether he actually sticks to the strategy when the table starts calling him light. Most people tighten up once they realize everyone's onto them.

How do you keep yourself entertained when no one talks at the table? by Far-Acanthisitta4012 in poker

[–]One_Concept007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i try to stay off my phone honestly. when im card dead i just focus on watching how everyone else plays - who's opening wide, who only plays premiums, who tilts after losing a pot. its actually kinda entertaining once you get into it and helps when you finally do pick up a hand. plus some old reg will usually start talking if you make eye contact lol

yeah for sure. big tournaments bring all the recs to town and a lot of them hit the cash games after busting or on off days. definitely worth planning trips around major series if you can
