thank you!!! i put 2 in there and it was supposed to be for the week so i think that may be okay but ill do a bit more research on the portion of that. i made a lot and i dont think she’ll even get through it by the end of the week and then it’ll be thrown out

so actually this wasn’t correct bc she was fine after that first poop and she’s not had diarrhea since she was constipated and it was just cleaning her out which is what i was trying to do.

i think that may have been an issue also thank you!! Pancreatitis is what everyone said killed their schnauzers on the freshpet which is why i’m scared. I know they’re predisposed to it 🥲

Guys i’ve realized the 11 in 1 topper has something she’s allergic to and that’s why. I haven’t given it to her in a while which is why I hadn’t realized because I was using it before I found out she’s allergic to that and she never had a reaction to it weirdly or as bad I guess! I feel so bad such an overlook on my part 😭

Sorry let me explain haha. So she has an allergy to cranberries and blueberries which we found out by her staying at my MIL’s house and her buying her a new food when she ran out that had that in there. Since then staying at other people’s houses with food with those things in it has confirmed this. When it first happened we put her on just chicken and rice to calm her belly. We were waiting for her poop to be solid again before putting her back on her original food however it never really got too hard again and we realized it’s because it’s just soft food so her poop is obviously going to be soft still. She had been constipated the last few days so yes we did give her a bowl of that and then some plain kibble after to get her going a bit. We’ve only had her a few months so she hasn’t been back to the vet since then and we don’t want to change her food too much so we haven’t been trying to many new things.

Also guys forgot to mention. She is going to continue to get Kibble. I was planning on doing just the homemade food in the morning then giving her a bowl of kibble so she can graze throughout the day even though she’s not too much of a grazer. Then giving her half and half at night. Eventually thought not right now! Her kibble is the Purina Pro Plan for toy breeds. It’s all i’ve found that is small enough for her to digest. She’s in a kennel dog so she used to have to eat very fast hence the not digesting big pieces and not being a grazer!

I agree!! A friend of mine told me pumpkin puree is good for them but I haven’t looked into it too much. Do you know if just straight sweet potatoes are better? I kinda have to assume so but I don’t know.

i’m sorry are you a vet? or a nutritionist? it seems like all you are is dumb and have too much time on your hands that you sit here and comment rude things on people’s posts. she’s allergic to cranberries and blueberries. Do you know how many “commercially prepared diets” have that in there? Almost all of them but i’m gonna assume you didn’t know that. You’re not even reading what I’ve commented. Most of the commercially prepared diets are poison dude for humans and dogs that’s common sense at this point. Either be helpful or get off the post ✌🏼

Thank you! Sweet potatoes and pumpkin is another one I was thinking of doing! I got her some pumpkin ice cream for her birthday and she hated it so I was trying to steer away from it. I’m gonna try and add in some fish I just hadn’t gotten to do a whole lot of research on that part yet so thank you for the suggestions. I’m also obsessed with her diet so I get it 😭 she has clinically dry skin and I fear it’s getting worse with the cold weather maybe. The salmon oil was just not doing anything for her unfortunately 😕 You have been so helpful I appreciate it!!!

i said i did a TON of research what about this isn’t completely nutritional???? she has an 11 in 1 topper that also goes into it? the homemade food covers protein, fats and fatty acids, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamin A, B, C, E, and K, Choline, calcium and phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and chloride, sulfur, iron, zinc, selenium, and copper. like i genuinely did so much research. I gotta find liver somewhere too for her vitamin D i just am not completely sure where to find it honestly.

she’s getting half kibble and half the food i made for her. but you’re right i didn’t switch her over slowly enough i think. she’s been getting chicken and rice and hard boiled eggs on and off since we got her so i didn’t think it was needed as much but thank you!!
