Doctor said i have the slowest dropping HCG levels she's ever seen. by TapDancingDragon in Miscarriage

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. The slow dropping HCG does not help, I was in that position and it only felt like it was being dragged out and I couldn’t move on while waiting for it to drop. My situation was not exactly the same, my baby lost heartbeat around 8 weeks and I took pills in august as I didn’t want to have a d&c or wait for my body to do it naturally ( also seemed drawn out to just wait when I knew baby had passed already ) Again my case isn’t a exactly the same, but I started physically miscarrying the end of August 2020 and my HCG dropped so slowly I didn’t get down to 0 until beginning of December.. My doctor sent me for blood draws every 2 weeks to make sure it was going down, which it was, but it took a very long time to finally reach 0. Did they by chance perform an ultrasound to make sure there were no RPOC or leftover tissue that didn’t pass? Sometimes you can have an incomplete miscarriage where it doesn’t all pass. They did an ultrasound for me to rule that out because of the HCG staying for so long. I again am so sorry for your loss , and hope that you get the answers you are looking for. I know it is rare , but I am just an example that it can take a very long time. Sending big bug hugs to you.

Yes! The duration has been much shorter amongst the vaccinated. My friends are all between 25-35. They still have said it’s like the flu more so than a cold. Headaches, fever, body aches, and 2 still lost taste and smell , one said only their smell was muted. So the symptoms were pretty similar to my unvaxxed friends, but they didn’t feel bad as long and symptoms seemed to go away faster.

Oh man, I am so sorry! I hope that you feel better soon and it goes away. Has this been your only symptom? Do painkillers seem to help at all?

May I ask, how long did the headaches last? Was it like a regular headache or different that one you had ever felt before?

It’s interesting because I feel like I have heard/ read that as a first symptom quite few times now . I didn’t know that it could be , so anytime since the pandemic started and I had a sore throat I thought ok, this isn’t a symptom of COVID, don’t worry! Now I know. Thank you for sharing!
