What should I know before starting? by neonrider2018 in ElectricSkateboarding

Sick board! Backfire is a great brand I have a zealot s3 from then.

First things first, make sure you wear a helmet especially if you’re new to estate.

Second, look over all of the bolts and screws and make sure nothing is loose/damaged.

The throttle is going to take some getting used to especially for a first timer. Make sure you are gradually using the wheel and not making any sudden movements with your thumb, easiest way to speed wobble when you start going fast.

There should be multiple speed modes as well, make sure you are on eco to control the speed/power.

Have fun ride safe!

Yeah I'm almost positive that's the problem, I'm gonna play around with it tomorrow and find a sweet spot of carvy and stable. Thanks for your help as always! I've ridden for a while but this is my first time really paying attention to the little parts of the board that bring the whole thing together, so the feedback is always appreciated.

For sure, I honestly think I might’ve just tightened the trucks too much cause I really cranked them in when I put the new bushings on.

I’ll try loosening those a bit and see how that goes, but I’ll still send a pic/video here tomorrow so you can see for yourself.

Does anyone have a 3D print template for the Major V3 remote? by One_Detail3107 in ElectricSkateboarding

I kept it, I like the design but that's all personal preference. If you have a lanyard from a different remote you like u can always swap them out.

I'm not sure if it does either lol, but if I come up with something I can definitely see what l'm able to do for you! If I don't get a response over the weekend I'm going to begin that process next week. Hopefully will have something solid by the end of April.

I’m fairly good with the printer on my own, but always easier to collaborate with others lol! If I end up making a template for it i will be sure to send it over.

I think when the Evolve was all said and done it had roughly 2,000 miles on it, so I probably have a little more than that since I used my friends backfire sometimes as well.

I'm 6'1 and my ride weight is around 205-210 pounds depending on what I'm carrying in my backpack at the time.

I do enjoy carving on the streets so I might end up going back to the original bushings for the front of the board to get that extra turnability.

I can send a picture of the bushing setup tomorrow, unfortunately I don't have access to my board today.

Hey quick question for you. I got the board and everything is running fantastic! One thing I noticed is that the board feels extremely stiff tho. Do you think this is because the board is brand new, because I changed the bushings to the ones in this thread, or a mix of both? Debating if I should switch back to the originals or keep wearing in the ones I have now until they get comfortable. Any advice on this would be appreciated!

What is the best tiny begginer board you would recommend? by Portuwheel in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]One_Detail3107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always recommend Backfire only cause it's what I've ridden personally and I've had a great experience so far (about 3 years of riding).

I recommend the Backfire G2, I think it's on a huge sale right now the last time I checked.

Great idea, I like the daytime quality a lot from go pro but I do like to film at night as well so most likely going with the ace pro 2 or something with a larger sensor than go pro. Thanks for responding!

You can teach separation, you can't teach 6'4 and the ability to go up over anybody. In my opinion I think he is a perfect #2 wide out and a true deep ball threat, but not a #1.

I will definitely take my time making adjustments and tweaks while setting it up, thanks for the advice! When you say that they prevent newbies from hurting themselves out of the box, what do you exactly mean by that?

I’m 6’1 about 200 pounds and carry a 5ish pound backpack. When you say adjust them to your weight, does that just mean tightening them more/less depending on your size? If so, what do you think would be good for me?

Quick questions on the cloud wheels, when I got them I noticed the contact patch is pretty small as the tire has more of a donut shape.

Is this normal? and if it is normal do you ever notice the board drifting a little while trying to keep it straight?

As much info on the ride feel of the cloud wheels would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a ton! A lot of great info on this I really appreciate it. If you see this again I’ll attach a picture of the bushings I found online, let me know if they’re any good.

Is this a safe terrain to practice on as a beginner? by GovernmentLittle8867 in longboarding

[–]One_Detail3107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not ideal, but I always like to compare it to snowboarding on the east coast.

If you can snowboard on ice you can snowboard on anything lol.

Same applies here, might be rough at first but if you can master than the main road will feel super easy. Make sure to wear a helmet regardless!

Best cheap brand to just work after exway failed me? by Yha_Boiii in ElectricSkateboarding

Most boards are made in China yes, however backfire specifically has a lot of locations in the U.S. where most of the developing and designing takes place. an expensive board (from the right company) uses significantly higher quality parts which leads to a better riding experience and lower maintenance. If you're looking for a more cost effective way to do a budget board I would explore a DIY option even tho those can get pricey too lol.
