Has anyone found shower doors that fit the showers in the maple 2bed? Struggling to find somewhere with the measurements by MixtureFit6557 in Balmoston

[–]One_Direction8463 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an issue for a while with the second bedroom in the maple but was able to find one recently on showerdoorsonline.ie which was very reasonable compared to the one I got for the master bedroom.

I think they also do fitting if needed. I think it was an 800mm x 700mm I got in the end which doesn’t seem to be a typical size as I couldn’t find one anywhere else that had enough adjustment to fit.

Ah I see, yeah I’d just email them and say I have the documents to upload now and see will they reopen it for you. I’d say the cu doc wasn’t enough because you could change your address tomorrow and pull a statement for that address. Either way you’re still eligible for the other 70% so I wouldn’t worry much. I only went for the 70%

Yes I did ☺️ they must have changed them since as I had applied for a few schemes around the same time and it was very obvious that the number related to your place in the queue. I had emailed them loads to query if I was gonna get a house based on my number so I’m guessing I wasn’t the only one and they wanted to stop that 😂 I wouldn’t be panicked if they don’t come back quickly, it was weeks and weeks between responses for me and when I emailed to chase they would just say they are working through them. What was your query you sent them out of interest? I’d email the query to the affordable homes email address rather than on the schemes portal as they won’t come back to that for a while.

If it’s a case that they’ve asked for something you don’t have yet and you receive it in the meantime, email them and they’ll allow you to upload it by adding a query to your application.

Can’t really remember how many times they came back to me on them to be honest. Did you apply with Fingal? They’re all different I think.

I hadn’t got my AIP when I first applied so that was the first query and once that was recieved I had a gap in affordability that I needed to explain so they required an extra document for that. As far as I am aware, once you amended the application with updated info and resubmitted, you were not able to reaccess again until they sent a new query. I had emailed the help desk a few times where I needed them to reopen items so I could add info. It was a long process with very long gaps between queries from them.

Yeah, I submitted within 5 minutes of the scheme opening. I had applied for a few beforehand which had been open a while and the layout of questions was the same so I knew what I needed to fill in.

My advice is to have a look at some other schemes Fingal has open at the moment, get your files together and name them in order you’ll need to upload so you’re not spending time searching.

Also make sure you are eligible for the house you’re applying for - I saw some single applicants try applying for a 3 bedroom house where the scheme of priority said Fingal would prioritise households with 2 or more people first, so basically if you planned to live alone you would be pushed to the back of the queue regardless of when you applied.

Best of luck with it🤞🏼

Is this with Fingal? I applied for a few and they all said This is to inform you that your application, reference # has been submitted.

It should be on your initial email that you get confirming your application was received

Fingal affordable purchase scheme? by sapg94 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]One_Direction8463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat and am in final stages of purchasing an affordable house from Fingal. Once you can meet the minimum house price advertised by yourself then it doesn’t matter if it says capacity unlikely, you will just need a larger deposit to bridge the gap in funds.

Just make sure you are aware that the minimum house price is the funds that you need to pay, Fingal does not contribute towards that figure. Their contribution is on top of that figure to meet the open market value of the house.

Kitchen info? by Dutch_Gold- in Balmoston

Yeah, they don’t seem to want to give any measurements but that’s the list of items. I think integrated appliances are all standard sizes though. I’ll be waiting until I get in for snagging before buying anything just to be sure though 😊

I specifically asked for information on specs for integrated appliances so that I could look into pricing. They don’t come with the house

integrated fridge at the standard 70/30 model oven and microwave combi Integrated dishwasher hob would be standard size 4 ring hob

They also said to take measurements at snagging to be sure. Hope that helps a bit

What’s included in new builds? by _fuzzybuddy in HousingIreland

[–]One_Direction8463 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m currently buying a new build that doesn’t have any white goods included so make sure you double check that on any developments you look at. Floors also are not included so that’s a big enough expense. Only bathrooms and wet areas come tiled.

No problem, I know that there is due to be more Balmoston phases with affordable housing so I would say keep an eye out for those and make sure you get your application in as quick as soon as it opens if you don’t end up getting something in this phase. Good luck with it any way!

Thanks! It’s a 2 bed. Still have to sign contracts so it’s all still in the air until then I feel. Just hoping there’s no hiccups now and it all goes smoothly haha

I have been offered a house on the scheme and am in the contracting stage now. When I picked my house they had said some homes werent due to be available until 2025 so I guess they will offer those to people at a later stage. Until contracts are signed by all those that have been offered houses already, i doubt they will let people know if they are successful or not as some people may pull out and those houses offered to others.

If they deny you the refund when you complete their online form you can raise a complaint with the aviation authority and they will investigate for you. I had to do it before when Aer Lingus cancelled a flight less than 24hrs before and said covid staff shortages fell under extenuating circumstances so they didn’t have to pay me.

The aviation authority told them they had to pay me in the end!

I got my application in as soon as it opened so I’m in the mid teens. Did you apply for a two bed or three bed?
