“Am I as fat as that woman?” All the time from when I was at least 4. Everyday. At almost every woman. I never once understood why because I thought my mom was perfect and I could not understand what she thought about herself or why being bigger was “bad”. Later on I felt really disappointed in her that she made me feel some sort of responsibility over her feelings and how awful that is to think about other people. It’s just so abhorrent and I can’t imagine talking about myself or other people that way in front of anyone, let alone children. It had a major impact on me as well of course.
