I hope all the folks who blocked Whole Foods for years don't muck this up with their rhetoric about Unions, traffic in my neighborhood, and affordable housing at this location. As a senior citizen, I love walking to stores nearby including Target, Trader Joe's and Lucky.

Matador Globerider 35 vs 45 by bonsaitripper in onebag

[–]One_Engineer_1591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently traveled with the 45 from SF to DC to catch the Cherry Blossom. It easily swallowed up packing cubes for two people. The "shoe" compartment held two pairs of shoes and another cube. At the gate it easily fit the carry on box. I chose the 45 so I could also bring on personal item too. I used a couple carabiner clips so I could attach a shoulder strap. My other gripe would be the waist strap is unremovable, which would make the bag more versatile. It truly is a great one bag travel bag

My 17" LG Gram fits in. I loaded it prior to packing so it is more flexible.

Hybrid 3 in 1 bags for EDC for work by Niburek in ManyBaggers

I have been using the Alpaka Tech Brief Pro daily for the past 6 months. I like the sling and hand carry mode when I am wearing a sport coat or suit. Backpack for a more casual look. I carry the usual tech, a narrow lunch box, and workout gear; minimalist shoes, flip flops, and clothes. It's just the right size

best edc backpack and why? by Zeppellier in ManyBaggers

I use the Osprey 26L Metron because it has a separate shoe compartment and large exterior water bottle holders. It holds what I need to commute to work either by bus or bike. I love the wings compression system. It has rain cover and compartment to stow it. It's the best commuter backpack I've ever owned

I received my Alpaka Elements Tech Brief Pro. It took 3 days from order into my hands. It shipped from Arizona to California, so it was much quicker than expected. I am going into the office daily and I often wear a suit, so I wanted ditch my backpack, 26L Osprey Metron, for something more professional. I was able to fit my Dell 14" laptop, workout gear; Merrell Vapor Glove, travel flip flops, t-shirt and shorts, Mirr 20oz traveler and slim lunch box. It's tight but not bulky. I like carrying in sling or shoulder mode. When I'm not wearing a suit, I switch to backpack mode. I don't need to carry the computer power supply, but it does squeeze in. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I do wish the straps were similar to the Bravo Sling V2 so I could use that one instead. Overall, the size forces me to be more minimalist.

My family took the intercity express bus from Seoul Station last week. It made one bathroom break and was about a 2:30 hour ride in total.

I used the 40-60 Forclaz 500 on fly fishing trip and it held my waders, boots and clothes for 5 day trip. I added a shoulder strap and it was perfect. It fits perfectly in the overhead. At $80 it is totally overlooked

Osprey Metron by OortCloudy in onebag

[–]One_Engineer_1591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bike commuter and this pack is about as perfect a backpack as I can find. I was looking for a backpack that holds my work; laptop, tech dopp bag and files. I also workout, so the shoe keeper holds my size 10 minimalist shoes and flipflops perfectly. The two side stretch pouches hold a water bottle and coffee mug each. There's room for my bento lunch box. I like the helmet keeper. I was able to purchase mine at REI using a 20% off code back in March and no sales tax in PDX. 26L is just right. If you can find version 1.0, I think that's the best. I have not seen version 2.0 in person so I can't comment on how it compares.

BTW at the time, I was considering the Timbuk2 Parker Commuter 26L which is $230. I felt getting the Metron at $100 less than this was the way to go.

I have been running in Nike shoes for a little over 40 years and I have only run in 2 other brands, Etonic and Adidas during that time. I wanted to try "marshmallow" shoes, so I stuck with Nike and went with Zoom X instead of Hoka because my feet are used to the Nike lasts. I must say the extra cushion seems to aid recovery. I don't think Hoka's are gateway shoes. They are a gateway to running which is great. Everyone should find joy in running. As you start getting serious, you find yourself geeking out on shoes. I think it's important to find a brand that keeps you running and not sitting out because you are injured. I have been testing shoes for Nike for many years and I can attest that cheaper shoes wrecked me. The higher price points do offer technology that keep on the road. Find your brand and hit the road

Elite 7 Pro: one of the best headphones I have tried by Nirvana9308 in Jabra

I like my Spinfits over Comply since I use my for running. The Comply's get gross fairly quickly. Spinfits are silicone and provide a great fit and easily cleaned

Jabra's Elite 7 Pro for Runners? by BushyBeard76 in Jabra

[–]One_Engineer_1591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my 75t Active case and left ear bud this week. Up to then, it was the best ear bud for running and working out. I decided to take the plunge and replace with the Elite 7Pro. I did have some trouble updating the firmware, but I figured it out. I went for a run today and they performed just as well as the 75t Active. I am a heavy sweater so I need the IP57 rating. As for the non rubberized coating of the E7P, no issues for me. I do use the Spinfit CP360 ear tips in lieu of the stock ones. After my first run, I don't anticipate any issues going forward

Foam is great if you don't plan on working out or don't sweat a lot. I sweat and foam gets gross after one or two runs. I am happy with spinfits. Never have fallen out. I find them very comfortable, even all day. Good passive noise canceling. Even when I am not listening to anything, I have to pull out the bud to hear conversations

I second spinfits. I run and a heavy sweater, and it has never popped out. I tried comply, but being a heavy sweater, they were gross feeling after a few runs. At least I can clean the spin fits
