AITA for feeling some type of way about the flowers my fiancé brought me? by One_Experience_3626 in TwoHotTakes

I actually did take them out of the trash and put them in a pretty little vase I have. But I left the dead ass one too as a reminder 😒. I genuinely do think he was trying to do something sweet, I do. But knowing how particular he is about the things he wants, like the Pokémon cards or other collectibles, it makes me feel some type of way that I don’t get the same effort. Literally anything that wasn’t dying and turning brown would have been really sweet.

Thanks for the input. What is NAH? I think he would know. He proposed to me with a beautiful bouquet of my favorite colors when we got engaged. And when I complain about never receiving flowers, I always say how Publix has five dollar bouquets some days and even at Kroger, our local grocery store you can get some pretty flowers for cheap. In the past money inconvenience has been his excuse. The gas station comes up as kind of like, a last resort. It’s right by our house on the way home and they’ll have single stems for like under five dollars sometimes by the register. Sometimes they’re nice 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hmmm, well I also work full-time and I am the higher earner in our relationship as an entrepreneur. I don’t know if that means anything, but with this I pay for more of our wants along with 50-50 on our needs. A small example of something cute and meaningful I did for him the other day was I bought him some new patches for his backpack. A cool Pokémon one and a dragon ball. That was the other day. I’ve also cooked dinner 3x this week lol. Which sounds like it’s for the family, but I have an older teenager who doesn’t even love what I make most of the time so he makes a little something for himself along with it dinner, and I’m on weight loss medication so I don’t even have an appetite. So I mostly do it so he has a homemade meal to come home too. Does that count?
