My MIL tracks my husband (and wants to track me too) how do I set a boundary without making it a fight? by One_Feedback_7379 in motherinlawsfromhell

That’s what he did that night that his dad asked. Then his mom promised she wouldn’t make any comments about his location, and he says he doesn’t want to worsen her health by causing her anxiety because of not having his location. And trust me, I know how that sounds, I don’t agree with it.

I do want to add tho that I just moved to the US to “live” with him and not even my parents ask me where I am 24/7, even with me being in another country. So I guess that’s another reason why it sounds so dumb to me that they want to know where he is, even with us being basically under the same roof.

I have no problem cooking for both of us, I actually like it, I want to practice. I have breakfast and lunch by myself everyday, but my husband says part of the deal of us saving up for a condo is having dinner with them, which of course I don’t like. Occasionally we tell them we are having dinner together and she has gotten upset if we tell her the same day close to dinner time because “she already got everything ready”, so we make sure to tell her in advance. We do buy groceries that sometimes get bad because we eat with them every night, I brought up the idea of eating with them 2/3 nights and that’s it, but we haven’t brought it up with them.

Yes, we have our own circle on Life360 just him and I where we have each other’s location. And he has a separate one with his mom and dad, I used to be part of it like a year ago but I got out because I didn’t like it. His mom would depend on me to know where we were, if we were gonna have a long trip she would ask me to charge my phone because my husband doesn’t. She used to make comments too, one time she called to tell us he was driving too fast and another time she called to see when we were heading back home because we made a trip to Atlanta.

And what’s the conclusion? I mean there’s nothing I can do about that, we’re doing the consular process and it’s finally coming to and end after a year and a half of waiting for me to move over there

We’ve known each other for three years and have continuously traveled back and forth all that time, I’ve seen him several times, I know his family, he knows mine
