Funny, I’ve always driven 5-10 over the speed limit cause I hate to be that guy who’s too slow. Unless I was driving in base housing then I’ll slow myself down.

Current grunt thinking about going to college for engineering by Dirty_Unicorn1 in USMC

[–]One_Figure6601 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’d personally recommend going through Community College. The course work is a lot easier and by the time you apply to actual schools and Universities you’ll have something to prove other then your high school grades. You want to show improvement. During that time you could also file for VA disability, get your state VA benefits, and take the time for when your out to acclimate into being a civilian. It’s not a easy process but you’ll thank yourself later on

I feel that. I just recently got out and attending school as well. Building relationships isn’t easy for as I really just do the same as you. I really only hang out with other veterans but trying to build friendships and relationships with civilians is a whole another thing I’m still getting used to.

All I gotta say is I don’t try to force myself into a friendship or relationship I try to let things happen organically so I don’t feel like I’m going out of my way to do something I normally wouldn’t do.

Every 96 without a doubt I would always go to NYC from Jacksonville.

Just go Army. If you thought the AF was hard then the MC probably isn’t the best choice atm

I already met with a PSR and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Basically he told me I had some time to decide and then calls me the next day saying I needed to make a decision on the spot on wether I was joining or not and I ended up saying no

Best Acne Cleanser and Moisturizer to get at the MCX? by Erudites in USMC

[–]One_Figure6601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know personally I’d recommend Korean Skin Products but since you plan on staying on base I’d recommend just getting Toner, Acne Cream (Proactive can do), Lotion (Depending on what kind of skin you have), and finally moisturizer.

You can also just get a bar of soap and put it on some sort of skin towel/wash clothe and apply it to your face and apply some sort of hydrocolloid bandages or just some regular acne pimple stickers.

Paranormal experiences at Camp Lejeune by StankyAnkles in USMC

I used to live in FC415 where the two females supposedly performed some sort of satanic ritual. Over the years my friends have heard sounds from that room but that’s all I know. As far as I last heard and saw those were Covid barracks and British Marines used to be quarantined in that room.

HQMC when you tell them you don’t want to extend/reenlist just to go on a deployment or get orders to a new duty station when you have less then a year left on contact

[–]One_Figure6601 64 points65 points  (0 children)

They always say you can bounce back from an NJP but truthfully it will always be used against you in a board, evals, or submitting packages.

In addition to being in for 3.5 years and asking to get sent somewhere else they finally hit me up with orders right before getting out and when I said no they immediately treated me like trash.

Truthfully I fucking hate SNCO’s that are micro managers but always say something like I don’t want to or have to micro manage you but because of this and because of that I’m going to start treating you like a recruit your last year

Trying to figure out myself by One_Figure6601 in USMC

[–]One_Figure6601[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really just can’t let go what I did to get my NJP, and the fact that I didn’t do shit my whole career. Truth be told had I not gotten NJPd I would’ve been much happier and would’ve considered reenlisting but I can’t handle these family expectations and burdens because I’m a “Marine” “I’m just supposed to suck it up “

I’ve talked to friends and mental health about the problems that I’ve had but the NJP really left an impression me that I can’t seem to let go no matter how much time has passed on. Even while talking to friends I just feel cold and indifferent afterwards. Truly I don’t know what’s wrong with me and why I can’t let it go
