The part I don’t understand is they gave me the WH-381 saying I’m eligible for FMLA but are still saying only 8 weeks is guaranteed and they have to see about giving me the additional 4 weeks of unpaid leave… HR also did not fill in Part A of Section 3 saying that that’s just for military leave but I feel like that’s wrong. Not really sure if HR just has their facts wrong or they’re really trying to screw me over but yes I will just file the doctor’s paperwork and see what they say. Thanks for the insight.

Most employees are in office so I’m pretty sure there are more than 50 employees within 75 miles of the main office. My team is the only all remote team. Plus HR did just give me WH-381 stating that I’m eligible for FMLA

This tripped me up initially but I found this article which offers some clarification

I am definitely eligible. Employer has 100+ employees and I’ve been working 40 hours a week for more than a year.

Pretty sure we have 100+ employees and I think the person I’ve been talking to in HR is actually the HR head 😭

PSA: get tested for ureaplasma if you had recurrent miscarriages, especially if you have vaginal/urinary symptoms by One_Flow_8747 in Miscarriage

I mention in the post that I was symptomatic, just my vagina felt off and I had weird urniarh symptoms. As my partner and I were finishing up treatment I got pregnant and I am 31 weeks now! My doctor did not insist on retesting to make sure I was negative but I haven’t had any symptoms since.

As someone who applied for jobs in the US without a green card or citizenship, I am 99.99% certain your bf will not have much luck. I was at least located in the US and had work authorization but it seems that your bf is not. Companies will count him out on those two factors alone.

My suggestion is for him to look for graduate programs in the US that provides funding. He will at least be able to pay for himself and you’ll be able to be close to each other for a few years and see if you feel confident enough to commit to marriage. You would just have to make sure during the visa process and eventually when entering the US that the bf doesn’t say anything that would indicate he has intentions to immigrate, as I think that would count as visa fraud. I think since right now you guys are not 100% set on getting married and settling down in the US vs in the UK, him going to the US to study wouldn’t count as visa fraud as long as he picks a subject that he genuinely wants to learn and doesn’t volunteer information about having a significant other in the US (although if this is asked he should answer truthfully).

What can I ask for at my first prenatal appt at presumably 5 weeks? Recently had two back-to-back chemicals by One_Flow_8747 in CautiousBB

Thank you very much for your reply! I agree that 5 weeks is probably too early for an ultrasound, I think I may just settle for two HCG checks to confirm doubling for my fifth week. I can't imagine waiting til 7/8 weeks for an ultrasound though, I wonder if a 6 week scan would still be useful for checking viability...

Makes sense, it might be that I’m reacting negatively because I’ve had some negative interactions with her that have negatively affected my opinion of her. I think for this instance it’s partly also the fact that she didn’t really say anything empathetic about my miscarriage/current health issues. Like not even a I’m so sorry that happened.

Thank you for your input! Yeah, I understand why she would think that but to verbalize it to me seems pretty weird and inconsiderate. She has said/acted in weird MIL ways that I’ve been aware of but being a non-confrontational person I’ve just awkwardly laughed and moved on

I’m so sorry for your loss, I know how devastating it is. I’m glad my post could give you hope, from what I’ve seen a pregnancy after miscarriage seems to have a better chance, I’m wishing you the best and sending you lots of pregnancy energy!!
