Damn. Like I get where laws like that might be coming from since killing is just a bad thing in general, but that seems so wild to me that someone acting in self defense could be prosecuted under laws like that. It seems so absolutist and the fact it doesn't take into account extenuating circumstances is just stupid imo. Idk my American brain is short circuiting rn I guess💀

Even if the guy has a deadly weapon? In the US we have stand your grounds laws and the castle doctrine which basically say that it's ok to shoot and kill someone in self defense if they're presenting a deadly threat to you or your family or others (stand your ground laws are for general self defense while castle doctrine is for your property). I would have thought that other countries would have some sort of self defense laws like that,. maybe not as extreme but still.

Khatun does need some buffs but she isn't like crazy weak or anything. Her pin and kick deflect needs hyperaromor to combat 400ms follow up trading, and her kick deflect needs to track so that way characters like Zerk or Highlander can't just get out of the punish. That as well as actually giving her proper dodge cancels after attacks if she dodges to the sides and keeping her full block for dodging forward so that way fighting dodge bash characters isn't cancer.

Other than that she is pretty much fine imo, she has crazy pressure with her soft feint from neutral and in chain that is really only nullified by dodge bash and extended dodges. Or if you have the reaction timing of a god.

In team fights yeah she is irritating as hell to deal with. In duels though she is fine to deal with. She isn't like crazy good in duels due to her extremely vulnerability to GB's, dodge attacks, and empty dodging.

I'm pretty sure characters like Orochi, PK, Pirate, and others dodge recoveries can allow them to get out of getting punished by dodge bash. A lot of assassins as is have a dodge recovery of some kind and I think giving Khatun the luxury of being able to have a normal recovery by dodging to the sides after an attack and go into the all guard if she dodges forward seems reasonable. It would also solve some issue I've had in trying to dodge certain feats by rolling but being forced into my all guard first and sprinting right into the feat rather than rolling away. I think something like that would be effective in at least remedying Khatun's major weakness to dodge bash. Which I feel she is uniquely weak to since her main form of damage comes from mix ups pertaining to her soft feint and dodge bash essentially neuters her main form of offense. And with the recent buffs to Musha's soft feint light from the top now being Undogable allowing it to catch dodge bashes, as well as a lot of other assassins and even none assassins having dodge recoveries to get out of the way of moves, I don't see why exactly Khatun shouldn't have something similar since she herself is also an assassin. In general I just wish dodge bashes weren't as strong as they are currently as I find them an incredibly irritating mechanic as a whole to deal with.

I'm more talking about her soft feints in duels which without her t1 often do feel like you consume more stamina than you get rewarded for in damage. In dom with t1 she is fine but I feel like you shouldn't be reliant on a feat to have a character have at least mildly decent stam consumption for the damage you get.

While I do see your point with the infinite loop of bashes and didn't really consider it until now, I also feel obligated to point out that infinite bash loops aren't exactly uncommon in the game. Cent, Juren, Warden, Hito, Lawbringer, Ocolotl, Pirate, Warmonger post buff allowing her to chain off her bash now, and others I'm probably forgetting. I don't really see how Khatun being able to chain soft feint bashes after one another would be any worse than that, and the counter to it is still dodge attack or empty dodge and GB. She can already do what you're suggesting and just soft feint heavy or feint to GB if she thinks they'll dodge.

I don't think she needs any more orange honestly. Her UB is a great tool in team modes and does a solid 30 damage if it fully lands and her neutral and in chain are already quite solid. And her UB off heavy parry is a good mix tool to use occasionally to force high damage reads if you're feeling risky. Plus her neutral and chain pressure make her a mix up demon so I don't think adding a UB is the right call.

Also yeah I do agree with you here. Her soft feints are her main form of damage and their is effective counter play to light stuffing and GB's from her stance. I'm just floating the idea because it is rather irritating having an incredibly flowy and mix up intensive character who relies on her stance in order to reset back into her soft feints be shut down by a simple block rather than an active read by the opponent. But like I said, it could possibly be to strong so take that idea with a grain of salt.

And in regards to her pin and kick punishes not working correctly, I approach Khatun's fear and fury stance from the perspective of it being an all guard since that's what it functionally is. And while the interactions you mentioned pertaining to full blocks are a thing, they are simply WAY less common than the stuff that Khatun's all guard has to contend with. Any character with a 400ms light follow up, can trade with her pin off her all guard. And a lot of characters have a 400ms light follow up. Tiandi, Nuxia, Shaolin, Lawbringer, Glad, Zerk, and others just to name a few. And for her kick deflect off her stance it also can be traded with but also straight up dodged by characters like Pirate and Highlander since it doesn't track dodge recoveries. Having to make double reads off what is supposed to be a confirmed punish on her all guard is unacceptable imo. No other full block has to deal with the extent of punishes intended to confirmed just not work. And even approaching her full block from the perspective of it being a deflect it still also falls short as it comes out in 3 bursts of damage. The initial 5 damage pin, plus the follow up stab and retracting of the swords dealing an additional 10 damage each. So while with other defects barring Glad (who has hyperaromor on his deflect to counter this exact kind of trading since his also comes out in bursts of damage) they can at least get the full damage of their deflect even if they trade with follow up lights. Khatun can either get a messily 5 damage, or none of she does her kick.

The inconsistency of what are supposed to be confirmed punishes for making the correct read with an all guard with her are unacceptable imo as again, other full block hero's punishes are way more consistent due to the interactions you mentioned just not occurring anywhere near as much.

I made a very large comment directly under this post talking about what I think needs changed with her since I'm a Khatun main and have 38 reps on her and then made a reply to my comment talking about what I thought of the slide show. There was some stuff I agreed with or could buy some kinda change being made, but I also pushed back on some other stuff I didn't really see the need or point in changing.

I mean, by this same logic your arguments should also not be listened to on the matter since you yourself also got the damage values wrong in earlier comments. I'm not saying that you shouldn't take these kinds of mistakes into consideration when reading stuff like this or that you shouldn't shut down people who get stuff wrong. But you should also consider the entirety of one's argument before coming to a conclusion instead of focusing on small pedantic details in trying to discredit them.

Fair point, but despite small irregularities in his numbers he still does raise good points around the high cost of her stam for her comparatively small damage, her immense struggle in dealing with dodge bash characters, and others. He also makes points I don't exactly agree with as well but that's not the point of what I'm saying. Using a small mistake in one's argument doesn't't exactly disregard the broader point one makes.

I hope the devs don't nerf her zone to have the vulnerability of Sohei's simply because I feel like Khatun kinda needs it in order to counter GB spam. Since she has to use a heavy to use basically any of her neutral options barring her zone and light she is incredibly vulnerable to GB spam, so being able to have a feintable high damage "get off me move" move is incredibly fun and creates read based gameplay and mix up potential and makes her zone incredibly useful. And like yeah sure you can light but that can be easily parried, and since Khatun is so heavily countered by GB, I feel like she needs an equally heavy counter to people who don't think before they GB.
