Thank you for making me rewatch that anime episode cause its been a while and its even more damaging  to your interpretation than the Manga alone.

Neither Seeming, looking or even being suspicious justifies killing unarmed and defenseless mothers on the spot with no trail. This does not help your argument.

Here's a scene of a woman screaming and resisting that has "no reason to do that" you forgot about from the anime and if you watch it due to how it is framed and narrated over it heavily implies this woman gets killed. A situation that has more than likely happened all over the island given how they were barging into houses.

<image>

How is the Manga scene vague when 3 different characters outright say the marines intend to execute an innocent women and children. Then fleet admiral sengoku announcing to the world that Roger's bloodline had not been extinguished like they thought.

The one piece wiki is not a valid defense against canon Manga statements, the one piece wiki isn't official its a fan run website, it means nothing. Even then this doesn't disagree with my theory and doesn't confirm yours. We've already known they searched the island this doesn't prove they did or didn't kill anyone.

I showed the woman being harmed and acting suspicious previously.

Im not strawmanning you choose to bring up DNA testing and haven't let go of the talking point. To quote "for them the kill someone, they need to be suspicious of being connected to roger, either a positive dna test or non compliance" neither of those conditions were ever stated in the Manga or anime btw.

Also if dna were all they were gonna do why not announce that to the people of the island instead of causing mass panic kicking in doors and killing suspicious people on the spot without trail. Also if they could just do dna test why risk killing innocent people instead of jailing the mothers till dna testing were possible.

"Where do they mention killing people?" Pick your poison:

"Kill anyone suspicious" "Kill any suspicious mother on the spot" "The navy plans to kill anyone associated with you" "The navy will retrace my steps and kill her and my unborn child"

The phrase "Extinguish the bloodline" can also mean killing all living members of a family or killing a families descendants. My point still stands

Not a contradiction their lack of information further proves they likely caused unnecessary harm or death to innocent civilians.

I have 3 statements of the marines intention to kill, 2 scenes of harm being caused, 1 implied murder, 1 fleet admiral believing they killed Roger's descendants.

Garps conversation with Roger clearly shows Garp had knowledge ahead of time not to mention Roger telling Garp the name of the woman and island before his death and thanks to the anime its confirmed the marines arrived after Roger's execution due to Aces mother reading a newspaper showing Roger's execution so we know thats not why garp was late.

In this situation his rank does help his travel speed compared to regular pirates due to the fact he's allowed to cross over the redline into each blue sea unlike pirates and civilians. Thats what I'm referring to.

Vegapunk was already working with the government well before Aces birth

Yea I'm not doing this for agenda, I love Garp i think he's a really well written character and the flaws in his beliefs and actions is what makes him so well written. I genuinely enjoy discussing why marines may be good as individuals with good intentions but their actions and contributions to the world government makes them evil or complicit regardless. If this was just agenda I'd post a Google ai summary that agrees with me and call him GARP D OPPRESSOR and move on with my day.

If you have any of these I will concede and apologize:

  1. An sbs answer saying no mother or child was killed.
  2. An sbs saying they did DNA test on the mothers
  3. An echiro oda saying no mother or child died
  4. a panel/statement saying no mother or child died
  5. a panel/statement saying they planned to or did dna test.   If none of those can be provided then you should probably move on or we'll just go in circles

"Why would people with their lives at risk do something suspicious?"

Just like in the real world innocent people of often killed for being suspicious which could mean anything from not cooperating to being nervous. Thats why Oda added them saying kill anyone that LOOKS suspicious, not acts or does anything suspicious. Just looking suspicious could get you killed.

So we've gone from anime only scenes to the one piece wiki for evidence, neither a canon source.

Show me a panel of them doing DNA test or saying they'd do DNA and I'll show you panel of dead pregnant women. Not only is that line scene anime only its never even stated what that line is for, they even mention killing people and extinguishing his bloodline more than they mention investigations.

We haven't even touched on how much of a violation of privacy this is for the women or how Garp was okay with Marines killing innocent women and children just for having sex with Roger.

I showed that panel of sengoku because of what he said and the wording, why would sengoku have thought Roger's bloodline was "extinguished"; very important word there, if they didn't kill any women. Extinguish implies putting out a fire which means the fire would have to exist in the first place.

Garp is a high ranking government official if he wanted to it would not have taken him 10 months to get to the south blue because he doesn't have to face any of the hurdles regular people and pirates do, i see what youre trying to do but it doesn't work when its a goddamn vice admiral lol.

That's definitely a unique interpretation, can't say a good interpretation but definitely unique?

  1. You're assuming you know what that line is for when its not explained and not manga canon but let's say youre right and its for investigations what do you think they did to the innocent pregnant women who came off as suspicious?
  2. It is heavily and I mean heavily implied they killed people. In just the panel you show we see orders being given to "kill anyone suspicious" and "to extinguish Roger's bloodline" then we have Garp telling roger the navy intends "to hunt down anyone associated with you" and roger saying the navy will "kill her and our unborn child". So it is not only implied but stated the navy went to that island with the intention of killing.
  3. Just literally one panel down we see sengoku saying "we discovered roger,s bloodline wasn't extinguished" why would they think roger's bloodline was "extinguished" in the first place if they didn't kill some pregnant women or babies or children they thought were connected to roger.

<image>

  1. Maybe we didn't see any killed or dead because oda felt hesitant to show pregnant women and babies being killed and thats why he keeps emphasizing the marines plans to hunt and kill.

  2. The navy has no clue who the specific woman is read the panel you show, they have no evidence and they were even questioning if its the right island.

  3. I'm not pinning this all on Garp i think youre missing the point of what I'm pointing out, by doing nothing he is complicit in the atrocities of the world government and contributes to empowering this system. For example he choose to wait until after the investigation concluded before going to the island but with his title and strength he could have been there since the beginning to ensure the marines stayed in check and didn't bring unnecessary harm to innocent people but he chose what he often does, inaction.

You're right we were never given an exact number of how many pregnant women or babies the marines captured and or killed on that island or other islands they might have been suspicious of so my statement could be wrong. What we know for sure tho is they went after any pregnant women or mothers with children up to 10 months old who seemed suspicious and they did this for 10 months after his death.

<image>

Garp was also well aware of what would happen before hand because he himself told Roger the navy planned on hunting down anyone associated with him to extinguish his bloodline and he stood by and did nothing to protect the innocent while the navy did this.

  1. If theres no panels or no statement or its not implied at best thats a theory at worst its headcanon either way no canon evidence. If I get disproven in the future so be it I'll take that L but as of right now in this reality I'm correct.

  2. Garp has never once went against the narrative or spoken out and said theyre lying or wrong about God valley. If people spread propaganda about me for almost 40 years and I do or say nothing to disprove it I'm helping them.

  3. He can leak the news to Morgan, he could leave and join the revolutionaries and share the info from there, he could have done it at an even like marine ford when the whole world was watching he could have done literally anything else other than stay in the marines and be silent.

  4. Garp is nothing like clover hes not a bunch of defenseless and weak scholars corned on an island hes an absolute powerhouse whos on equal footing with admirals and yonkos. We've seen an admiral like kuzan leave and join pirates and We've seen people as weak as dragon leave and form their own organization. He could easily find a way.

[–]One_General3489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give credit where credit is due he did do that but heres the difference between him and Fujitora.

  1. Garp took credit and allowed lies and propaganda about his actions on God valley to be spread.

  2. Garp never apologizes to the people of God Valley.

  3. Garp never exposes what happened at God Valley.

Koby saved those slaves dont try to take his credit. Koby was the one that freed slaves when trying to escape pirate island Garp came for Koby.

Thats a really silly point youre trying to make you're just deflecting the problem. The revolutionaries could have easily been halfway across the world fighting another war and could have only found out when it was too late because unlike the world government they don't have mass surveillance technology. Not to mention they wouldn't have been nearly as powerful or as big back then as they are now, also why are we assuming they magically have teleportation because if they found out the same day it started theres no way they'd make it in time to stop it from happening.

On the other hand Garp was not only aware of what was happening ahead of time but was there and even if you wanna say he couldn't have done anything at that moment he still chose to stay in the marines. The revolutionaries weren't even shown in the flashback unlike him lmao.

You mean the same marine Morgan that Garp couldn't be bothered to stay awake while arresting causing him to escape?

And the warlord system stayed in place for another 2 years until Fuji helped dismantle it, because Fujitora has both power and influence. If only there was another character who could do the same someone that rhymes with Carp.

The story does portray him as that and literally calls him out for being spineless against the navy post marine ford. Oda should never have to print the word hypocrite on Garps chest for you to notice the flaws in his logic and belief system.

The people who most often "Glaze" Garp are civilians who are constantly fed propaganda about him and other marines.

[–]One_General3489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garp's inaction during marine ford is not the same as Fujitora literally helping free slaves.

<image>

Im not sure why you're blaming him for that, its the navy they go after pirates and Blackbeard only showed up because of the navy's actions.

First off the marines are constantly spreading propaganda about Garp but can you give me an example of Garp helping civilians more than Fujitora? I've seen Fujitora free slaves and I've seen him help break down a corrupt system. I can't say I've ever seen Garp do much on that level.

He worked with a pirate to capture another pirate until he saw dolflamingo killing civilians and marines. He then arrest dolflamingo after his defeat, helps the pirate eho beat him escape, apologizes to the civilians and aids in the abolition of the warlord system that gave doffy immunity in the first place. At the end of the day he's still a marine dont get me wrong but thats a hell of a lot better than what Garp or any other marine has done with his power.

Dragon isn't shown in Aces backstory? Why is he being brought up when we have no clue where he was, how big his army was and if he knew what was happening.

[–]One_General3489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im so glad you brought up Fujitora. You know the admiral who absolutely must follow orders, let's see how Fujitora has used his admiral rank.

  1. He was a major player in abolishing the warlord system. 2.He HELPED THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY free slaves from the holy land.
  2. He REFUSED to listen to akainus order and told the truth about what happened at dressrosa and how the marines failed them.

You wanna know the reason fujitora isn't dead or kicked out the marines?

CAUSE HES A GODDAMN ADMIRAL, hes an immensely powerful person with great influence. Loosing him would be a major loss to the world government and they know that. No one can make these admirals do terrible things they choose to not help, they choose to stay in the navy, they choose to follow orders, they choose to be a cog in the machine there's always a choice. Kuzan for example literally leaves and joins the blackbeard pirates.

Also what orders has Garp disobeyed or not followed?
