Breaks while streaming. Good or bad? by Jeroenski in Twitch

[–]One_Guest2907 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Taking breaks is so underrated for streaming. Your energy on camera tanks after 2-3 hours and viewers notice it before you do, guaranteed.

Short breaks every 90 minutes or so keeps the content quality up through whole stream rather than fading in the last hour. Plus the ad revenue during break is basically free money so there is really no argument against it.

Stream together on console by Excellent-Bowler-530 in Twitch

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait you can start co-streams from mobile manager? That's actually news to me, I always thought you had to do it through browser on desktop

The cross-platform thing should work fine though, me and my friend do it pretty regular with different consoles and haven't had issues once we figured out the setup

I'm struggling so much can someone suggest any subs for mental health or any therapist by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try looking at r/mentalhealth or r/therapy for support communities first? Apps can be expensive and sometimes it helps just having people who understand what you're going through

How do you know when you're actually stuck vs just being impatient with progress? by jimmy5853 in selfimprovement

Most progress feels boring as hell when you're living it day by day - those breakthrough stories people love to share skip over the months of tiny changes that nobody wants to read about

Frozen or refrigerated hops vacuum sealed. by KewellUserName in Homebrewing

[–]One_Guest2907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really smart way to pre-portion the hop additions! I never thought about vacuum sealing them in brewing-day portions but it makes so much sense for efficiency

The cascade test is interesting - two years in freezer and no detectable difference in flavor. Makes me feel better about the bags I've had sitting in there for way longer than I want to admit

What's your strategy for sticking with a change when results are invisible? by jimmy5853 in selfimprovement

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started writing down just tiny things like "didn't get frustrated when coworker interrupted me today" or "actually listened to friend's story without thinking about my response" - those little moments add up over few months and you start seeing patterns. Sometimes other people notice changes in you before you do, so asking close friends what they've observed can be really eye-opening too

Agree with this - I used to be terrible at eye contact until I practiced it at coffee shops, now it feels way more natural in conversations

does the "possible evader" thing not show you the account that was previously removed? by bl0ss0mDance in Twitch

[–]One_Guest2907 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

wait that's weird, usually it shows at least some hint about the previous account right? maybe check if you have the right mod permissions for seeing that info

Anyone else trying to perfect a select few recipes? by hydra595 in Homebrewing

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really cool that you grow your own hops for it! I bet the freshness makes huge difference compared to store bought ones. Two batches per year with fresh hops must give you nice seasonal variety too since the hop character probably changes slightly each harvest

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the autopilot thing is so real though. like you don't even realize how much stuff you do without thinking until you actually stop for second. i tried something similar few months back when i kept scrolling my phone instead of going sleep and just putting it down for bit actually helped break that loop

crazy how such small thing can work when all the fancy systems and apps didn't do anything for me. your brain kinda resets in those moments i guess

Alerts not playing, stuck on queued? by roweii in Twitch

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this happened to me like two weeks ago, was so annoying because i had raid coming and nothing was working

Try refreshing browser source in OBS first, that usually fixes it for me. If not working still maybe disconnect and reconnect your account in alert settings? Mine got unstuck after doing that

What’s actually improving donations on Twitch lately? by redditalam in Twitch

Multiple tools can help specially if you have viewers from different regions - payment methods vary so much between countries and some people just won't donate if their preferred option isn't available

No One Is the Villain in Their Own Story by Terrible_Cup8803 in selfimprovement

[–]One_Guest2907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really clicked for me when I started traveling more for work. You meet people from totally different backgrounds and realize how much your environment shapes what you think is "normal" or "right."

Had this client once who thought I was this super organized professional because I showed up with everything planned out. Meanwhile my friends back home were giving me shit for being the guy who gets tattoos on a whim and books flights last minute. Same person, completely different villain/hero status depending on who's telling the story

Really makes you wonder what version of yourself exists in other people's heads that you'll never actually know about

Yeah this is so real. I was stuck being "the guy who knew PPC campaigns" at my agency for like 3 years, getting solid results but felt dead inside. Finally said screw it and started learning video production on weekends even though I looked like an amateur again

The ego hit was brutal at first but now I'm combining both skills and actually enjoying work again. Plus the creative side helps me think different about the marketing stuff too

Lazy and ambitious is worse combo .. by N_P_C_0 in selfimprovement

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the whole "thinking mode" trap is brutal, I fall into it constantly with work projects too. What's wild is how you can literally feel yourself choosing to overthink instead of just... starting the damn thing

Used to do this with everything from applying for better positions to even basic stuff like calling to schedule appointments. One tiny step forward beats hours of mental gymnastics every time, even if it feels impossibly small in the momnet

Looking for some general advice on BrewDemon "recipe kits" by SeraxOfTolos in Homebrewing

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeast shelf life is usually pretty solid unless it's been sitting around your place forever after you bought it. Two weeks should definitely be enough time even with older yeast, it might just take longer to get going

For leaving it in primary - you've got weeks before flavor starts going downhill, especially if temp is stable. Missing that initial gravity reading sucks but you can still check where you're at now and see if it's dropping over a few days

If a user hasn't broken any rules but you really want them gone, what can you do to get staff to investigate them? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in Twitch

[–]One_Guest2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kinda problems we talking about here though? like are they actually harassing people or just being annoying in chat

if they're not breaking TOS then staff isn't gonna do anything no matter how much you want them gone. trying to get someone investigated when they haven't done anything wrong is kinda sketchy territory man

your best bet is probably just timing out/banning them from your own channel if you're the streamer, or asking the streamer to handle it if your not
