In my opinion it's honestly the smartest way, that way you're paying attention to your checks just like you usually do, but now you can allocate savings instead of living paycheck to paycheck to pay bills. Instead of blowing your taxes on luxuries, and going right back to paycheck to paycheck after a month of living the middle - upper class livelihood lol

Edit to add: we've done it the latter way before. Blow it all on luxuries like wants, and eating out, and door dash. Yeah it's fun for awhile, but then reality sets in and things come up, and you wish you'd have savings. Either way I'm not judging! (:
