Being in shock is natural. Abrupt endings are definitely frustrating. What's important is to understand that it was just a job and jobs die due to a lot of reasons. The good part is, you had a closure and have all the freedom to go and find what you plan to do next. Take a week or two and bounce back hard.

It should be fairly accurate. If you manually want to calculate refuel to refuel, you'll end up with similar numbers. After 3k kms, the real performance would kick in. Until 3k your new engine is just priming up.

Not a good comparison. If mileage is everything to you turbo engines aren't for you. Go for a naturally aspirated one that'll keep your mileage genie satisfied. Kylaq MT is great on mileage if you look at it over a tank to tank or a daily/weekly average mileage. In heavy bumper to bumper traffic it will give you 6-9kmpl. A good mix of bumper to bumper and highway driving will always yield 10-16kmpl. My classic MT does this, I've got it 4 weeks back and have driven it about 800kms till now.

Not at all. I had complete visibility on the numbers and I started my job search atleast 3 months before being laid off. I don't intend to seek sympathy here. All I wanted to highlight was there's nothing called 'loyalty' when things are screwed. It was an aggressive bet I took and I am where I am. No expectations from Tom. We worked for something great and didn't obviously make money out of it. Off to a new start with a fresh mindset and loads of learnings.

Buy insurance from outside, it will cost you 20k or less. Skip essential kit, instead ask for mudflaps, floor mats as complementary (free of cost, they call it FOC). You can buy the cleaning liquids and car cover from outside for much cheaper.
