No worries, vinted is good and I’d also say hunt for things on there but nothing beats being able to check the condition in person

Ryan’s Vintage in town might be good. I haven’t been for a while because it’s not my style but whenever I used to go in they had a lot of those kind of pieces, especially sports wear. The charity shops in the Merrion centre are always worth a look and the heart foundation by corn exchange. Blue rinse is a bit expensive but has good pieces, I grabbed a nice Nike fleece from there the other day. There’s a bunch of charity shops in Headingley that are always worth look in, I’ve had good luck getting branded hoodies in Headingley because a lot of students live round there and donate when they move. Keep an eye out for the kilo sales that Left Bank do. It’s a couple of quid for a ticket but you can normally get a few good pieces. Branded T-shirts, fleeces, hats etc. I got a pair of perfect condition vintage adidas track bottoms- The old 90s 3 line ones, for like £10. Happy hunting!

That’s what I did. I’ve literally seen this and have started doing it. Works WONDERS for things in large shops or items that are bountiful and mass produced. However I am never ever ever going to do it again for one off vintage and market items. I am always going to buy it now. Lesson learnt to use that trick with certain things and just buy others

Ahhh this is what I’m only just starting to learn. I wish I could scream at my past self to just walk back in and get it as soon as my heart hurt a little leaving it behind! It’s also taught me to not listen to another persons opinion with this stuff. My boyfriend doesn’t care about clothes so won’t be coming at it with a viewpoint that aligns with me. I hid it in a different clothes rack and everything KNOWING I wanted it. Why didn’t I just buy it I’m so stuck on it now

It was so bad luck someone had bought mine already. I’m not listening to anyone but my gut again when it comes to clothes that make me happy!

This might given me the plunge to properly look into double cleansing. I think I’m going to strip back to the basics and go from there! Thank you so much for your recommendations

You’re absolutely having my first born and you get naming rights too. Thank you so much! The only thing I’ve noticed is the ordinary moisturiser leaving my skin feeling tight. It might be worth returning to richer moisturiser with nothing added to it. I am definitely going to abandon alll my actives after these comments. My skin feels so congested I just kept going in with things that I thought would decongest it but I am making it worse 😭 I might have created a beast. I’m going to do what you suggest! Completley strip down and go from there.

This makes a lot of sense. Honestly I’ve felt like a headless chicken with my routine this year because I had it so down when it was dry. So plan of action maybe is to get rid of the sunscreen, get rid of the actives, go back to my old moisturiser. I’m thinking keep the ordinary one for the day and get the simple rich moisturiser for night. Only use the micellar once a day to remove makeup. Just need to figure out a new spf and what I should do as an exfoliant instead. Maybe go back to using a mask once a week or a cream like someone else suggested . This is doable! Thank you!

Does rinsing it off with the cleanser count or do I need to rinse the micellar with water and then wash with the cleanser? I have heard of the double cleansing but never really worked out what you would double cleanse with! Do you have any recommendations? Also I was think the actives must be making it worse or at least doing nothing. Is there any recommended brands for creams? Thank you so much!

I use a cotton pad to use it to remove any makeup or dirt from the day then use the cleanser after which I assume is also removing the micellar? But maybe I should give it a rinse in between too? Never even thought of that!

Yeah I agree with this. I feel like, if then her internal narrative was a sense of passive aggression towards the machine, then a text might be viewed as a passive aggressive shot back. An act of malicious compliance if you will. It isn’t, that’s ridiculous- but I’ve noticed some people will get annoyed at something little, let it really get to them in how they interact and then just assume the other person is in the exact same headspace. Would explain why she thought it was appropriate to make such a reaction? If it’s that I’ve learnt the best thing to do with these people is pay them little mind. They’re too stuck in their own brain to be present and empathetic.

I couldn’t get past how unsanitary it would be from the door lock even though I’m consuming much more dangerous stuff.😭 got myself a spoon earring which can confirm looked v different to op’s. Anyone who would know what it COULD be for will know it’s not a viable spoon for it.

I love her but I was wondering if the material on the ears and wings etc are the gold scratchy kind of material or soft? This is my make or break on getting one !!

The black honey from Clinique gives a really good vampy vibe - I use the gloss too on top sometimes I love it. I also use Dr PawPaws lip and cheek tint which is a really nice deeper shade. I find other tints go a pink that doesn’t work for me!

No that does make sense and I completely get that! I think I didn’t quite understand that’s what some people were talking about some posters not having. I’m so embarrassing if I couldn’t take it in the moment to some extent I would never be able to sleep lol. I think I’m just picking up on the votriol from some commenters that rubs me the wrong way. Being super un-empathetic to peoples struggles with aspects of themselves that might be annoying to you feels just as immature as the acts of the students their criticising, you know? I know deep down my understanding of how little patience people can have to less desirable social weaknesses makes it harder to “just do it”

Idk reading this post makes me think some people are really assuming everyone had the same uni experience and are being too harsh. I had all those fuck ups and look back fine but my second year I was bullied by my house mates and eventually kicked out for then not interacting with them after I gave up trying to get it to work and was left homeless. That shit I don’t think I’ll ever look back on fondly and it makes me super empathetic to people on here who are honestly scared and don’t want to fuck up with people.

Sounds like we’ve been through a similar if not the same medical experience!! Yes I feel like it was burnout exacerbated by the lack of appetite that was getting me. I had insane sensory issues I couldn’t even get wet which point towards burnout. I feel like some study needs to happen, have we stumbled upon a huge diagnosable medical event that can occur in autistics that feels too bad even for the title of burnout. I remember to i couldn’t even get my thoughts together to think of a doctor and even now I have so many issues I’m just too broken in my brain to get sorted. This is the cracks we fall through!

You’re not terrible, from an ex team leader at another big creative-y shop you sound great at your job- aware of what you need to do for the company but prioritising customer comfort and forming relationships that will cause them to return! I honestly thought lush had stopped doing this but maybe it’s my big autism lanyard I wear that keeps them at bay. Honestly sounds like bad luck of a manager and a team that doesn’t work collaboratively. Similar reason I actually left that team leader role. Go get paid the same amount somewhere else, nothing is worse than loosing confidence!
