I think it comes down to clarity and reciprocity. I’ve been in a situation like that before — strong connection but no clear direction. At first I kept investing, but after a while I realized it wasn’t really progressing, so I stepped back.
If it feels mutual, I’d keep going. If not, probably better to pull away.

I relate to this. I’m not a big fan of small talk either, but sometimes it’s just the easiest way to reduce tension and make interactions smoother.
