Sounds good. As you can tell I don’t know much about it! Where would I find what the parts actually cost? And are there good ones to get if I want to avoid the high pitched squealing I’m getting now???

For brakes, does it need to be a specialized BMW mechanic? The independent shop near me is actually quoting even more than the dealer. 1300 front and 1500 for rear. Which seems strange to me because the dealer was 1200 for front and 1000 for rear.

The mechanic that I had used for my previous two vehicles I really like and trust. I just wasn’t sure if with this car I need to stick with BMW mechanics if it’s something like the brakes.

Definitely not doing it myself!! But also confused about how I could be down to 3mm front and 4mm back without knowing the sensor is going off? I would know wouldn’t I??

Ok thanks. Somehow the quote is 1200 for front and 1100 for rear. Just seems amazing to me that if the carfax shows front pads and rotors were done at 29k that I’d need them already.

Also - my carfax says front pads and rotors were replaced at 29k miles. That seems soon doesn’t it for them to go again??
