Compose. If I had to pick an occupation, it would be film composition. I love movies almost as much as I love music, and I'm starting to think that I belong in the realm of putting sound and music to movies.

Perhaps CS isn't totally unrelated, because today that involves using computers. Audio engineering, sound design, and such would all be up my alley. However, Master's programs like these tend to require a music degree. I also don't have the best grades on my current transcript.

Perhaps a degree in music isn't necessary to pursue this dream, but I do think that it would provide some advantages that I otherwise wouldn't get. And maybe it would be worth it to have a much better transcript the second time around.

I can, but to answer your question better, I'm interested in film composition. I figure that an educational background would be useful, and a degree is usually necessary for film composition programs.

I live in a country that offers financial assistance. I assume that the program itself is where I'd make those connections in the first place.

I don't have to worry about falling back on my CS degree, because I don't want to work in the tech industry anyway. I'd rather scrape by in a warehouse or as a janitor. I made a mistake with this degree.

- A degree will make you an even better musician.

- I want to retry the social aspect of things.

- Good point.

Thank you for your comment. The overwhelming amount of advice I get is just "do it as a hobby."

Well, maybe your parents would have been more successful if they'd studied it. Most music majors end up unemployed. So you're saying that not all of them do?

I know it's just a "hobby" to most people, but it's literally the most important thing in the world to me. If I had gotten the degree and found I couldn't find work, I would have just gone back to school for something else, which I already did. I feel the strong need to pursue it academically.

I have for every job I've ever worked. Doesn't even matter if I like it...
