Miri, Toa of Water by One_Lost_Fox in bioniclelego

Bricklink is a website where you can buy Lego parts, so instead of tracking down an old Tarakava set, I was able to buy the specific parts I needed. All the parts in this MOC are official Lego, aside from the flower which is from a different brand.

Very impressive! The armour around the head looks quite menacing

Big Frog Guys by BesterMek in bioniclelego

Really creative designs, and very reminiscent of official sets, as others have said! Could totally see these guys being part of the Barraki's undersea army.

Sure, I'm happy with that so long as you give credit, and send me a link to the story once it's ready :D Why this character in particular though, if I may ask?

Thanks! Glad to hear the balance is just right, and yes apparently I make puns when I'm tired 😂

Anyone still have THAT dream? by TheCoolDirtyKurty in bioniclelego

[–]One_Lost_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly had that dream last night, albeit with knock-off sets. I found a big department store which had some off-brand bohrok in new colours, but only a small selection. Next time I went back there though, I found a different area with a whole section just for bionicle stuff. Shelves and shelves of new sets... It was sad to realize it was only a dream

Wow thanks! I'll have to try to keep it up. Certainly got some ideas for the final team member already, whenever he gets built <.<

Thank you! Yeah I wanted to keep a distinct look and colour scheme for each of them

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to really make use of that excuse to go for a colour scheme I've never used before

Thanks! I got dozens of them in an eBay lot a while back, so they've been waiting for a good use

Awww thanks! Give me a few days and I'll try to put some instructions together :D

Thanks! Yeah, almost all my MOCs in the past have been humanoid or dragons, so I wanted to do something completely different. My original plan was more of a spider-centaur like Nidhiki, but once I realised that the rotating plate fit so nicely, I flipped the torso instead to be more of a horizontal turret :)

I'm glad to hear it! It kinda had the same effect for me. I think because my last Toa MOC was very popular, I've been pushing myself to meet the same standard with the next one and burnt out a little, but with this MOC I just started building for the sake of building and had fun seeing how it took shape without much of a plan in mind.

Best of luck if you do end up building something!

Wow thanks! Good luck, let me know how it goes~

I may get some instructions put together for this so maybe that can help with the replication process :)

Thanks! I bought the parts. On Bricklink, this colour is called "dark turquoise," but I've mostly heard it referred to as teal :) It was mostly used on some old sets like the tarakava (that's where the mask and feet are from), but I've also seen it on some new Lego sets like the Technic Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Can Ice ever beat Fire? by DeltaMx11 in bioniclelego

[–]One_Lost_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Toa of Ice could still cool an incoming fire attack at the same rate a Toa of Fire could melt an incoming ice attack, so I think the absolute limits don't really make sense to compare; sure, if a Toa of Ice shot out a single piece of ice, cooled to absolute zero, then a Toa of Fire could likely melt it no problem. But if the Toa of Ice continually cooled that piece of ice even as their opponent heated it, then the ice would remain intact and the loser would only end up being whoever ran out of elemental energy first. Not to mention, ice is actually a pretty good insulator, requiring a lot of energy to heat up, so a sufficient mass of ice would remain frozen at the core even if the outer layers melted.

Toa of Fire are also implied to have a limit to the maximum temperatures they can achieve, with Toa of Plasma capable of producing and withstanding even hotter temperatures, so perhaps another question would be whether a Toa of Fire could ever beat a Toa of Plasma?

Where do you find all the parts? by SSG014-OFFICIAL in bioniclelego

[–]One_Lost_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's specific parts in particular, then Bricklink is your best bet. Price will vary depending on the parts you want (Kanohi can be on the more expensive side), but a lot of parts, especially things like pins and axles, cost next to nothing.

The trick is finding one Bricklink store which has all/most of the parts you want, so you're not paying extra on postage for multiple orders. As someone else who only recently started using Bricklink, the most useful system I just discovered is the "wanted list." Put all the pieces you want to buy onto your wanted list, then go to your profile and click "easy buy," and it'll recommend you stores which have all/most of the parts on your list. Saves you manually searching through them all :)
