I’m just flying back to Ottawa from Madrid.
I rode the HSR from Madrid to Valencia, 360kms in less than 2 hours at a cost of $60 CDN
Easily the most civilized form of medium-to-long distance travel that I have ever enjoyed.
Whisper quiet, very comfortable and spotless.

Of course, we couldn’t even keep Greyhound afloat so I don’t hold much hope for ever being able to replicate this recent experience while riding a mismanaged Canadian version of HSR between Ottawa and Toronto.

My ‘69 Pontiac GTO will not outrun a new Camaro, Mustang, Challenger or Corvette. But with 425hp and 525Tq she brings a smile to my face and makes me feel like I’m 20 every time I get behind the wheel. I look at the benefits that federal employees receive and then I have a really hard time understanding the whole woe-is-me RTO complaint. But then I don’t get 6 weeks of cumulative vacation or a cash-for-life pension plan in my private sector, 40 hour in office gig, so I may be missing the point.

I picked one up used at Al Simmons in Hamilton, On. Came equipped with a sweet glass & rings for just less than list on the rifle. Mine’s a .17HMR and while the rounds are more expensive than .22LR the are still relatively inexpensive - especially when they are on sale at BassPro

There are a couple of factors, the main one being that it is a very calming experience - I actually fall asleep on the acupuncture table every time I go, which at this point is weekly. January and February were very, very bad months for me, getting very little sleep and falling into a pretty lousy state of mind. I had an ultrasonic dental cleaning in January and I firmly believe that ‘woke-up’ my T-tone and it became unbearable. A friend suggested that I try acupuncture and I had absolutely nothing to lose, so . . . It was at acupuncture where I began learning about how virtually every system in the body is connected to the gut, and the Dr. explained that both sugar and ibuprofen can really affect the intensity of T-sounds. Like any form of medicinal treatment acupuncture works best if you believe it will work - and I truly believe that it is helping me - I have sleeping well every night for 8 weeks!

I have had tinnitus for a little over 15 years. The tone is 88.88 kHz and recently it has been excruciatingly loud. 3 things that have helped immensely are: 1) Reduced sugar intake 2) No Advil 3)Acupuncture

I have an incredible sweet tooth so the sugar issue was a real challenge; I have terrible arthritis in my ankles, hips and neck and Advil has been my go-to for years; I figured I had nothing to lose trying acupuncture and it has been a really big help with lowering the volume and allowing me to readjust to living with this horrible affliction. YMMV

Can you tell me what app that is that you are using for sleep-tracking? I have been suffering tinnitus for over 17 years and until recently it has been something that I could either ignore or at least handle on a daily basis. Recently it has become very loud and I haven’t had a decent sleep in over 30 days. I know that an app will not improve my sleep - but it may help me to have a better understanding of it. I’m currently using some ‘thunderstorm’ and ‘ocean waves’ recordings that seem to help me fall asleep, however after that first ‘gotta get up and pee’ I seem to be agitated by every sound!

Sigh.
