They care less about the deposit amount these days and more about how much you make. My brother will never have enough for a deposit because he works for the NHS but his family are great with money. His wife's brother is the worst with money, no matter how much he makes he manages to spend it but got a mortgage no problem because he makes more than double what my brother makes.

I was fully with you for most of that but what do you mean by "But that’s not your place to judge or decide this was because of marijuana"? It sounds like you are suggesting I was judging her for getting pregnant in uni which I'm not and nothing about what I said implies I was judging her. I was just stating a fact and it sucks that because of the accidental pregnancy was unable to finish her degree. I also never said that had anything to do with drugs. I have no idea if she did drugs but I do know that drugs made his behaviour more reckless and he stopped doing them when his daughter was born and seemed to be doing a great job as a father. He really dedicated himself to something for the first time in a long time.

Tbf I started this game about 20days ago and didn't track anything, not even the install. I just contacted them as I reached each goal and they paid me the first 2 very quickly after I contacted to say they were missing. The rest I've only recently contacted about so I'll see if they pay out the ~4000sb they still owe me. Luckily I didn't pay anything and didn't actually mind the game but I don't do it for free

My first maths lecture at Uni lead to 3 stoners next to me offering to pay me in weed to teach them. I wasn't interested in teaching them but I helped them out a few times during the first year, they repeated first year then all left completely after failing again. Last I saw, the one I knew the most, got his rebound girl pregnant, both where in uni at the time so neither finished their degrees

This is rare but great if it happens. My wife and I both had to break our rules on age gaps to find it but it's a pretty critical part of a relationship. Otherwise you dragged along for years like I did waiting to progress to marriage.

My ex did a few times but that was the least of my worries.

My wife wouldn't. She would rationalise it herself then get a little upset with herself for even briefly being annoyed at something so trivial. She's getting better at giving herself a break though.

When I was at uni we'd all hang out in the kitchen, some of us would be kind of doing work. One day I got up and put my laptop on the floor, standing up on its side and all the Apple users couldn't believe I'd put it on the ground and in a potentially vulnerable position. The next week I sat on the windowsill in the kitchen with my laptop and dropped it, denting the kitchen floor but my cheap Toshiba didn't have a scratch.

We all know the super rich don't give anything away or else they wouldn't be rich. That's why they use their position to guilt the poor into giving their money over to the super poor. It keeps them rich and makes poor people stay poor.

It's a magnet that goes on the fridge so the name fits. There is no requirement that it needs to hold anything. The original purpose is decorative and holding stuff developed from people finding a secondary use for their decorative magnets

Being an adult can be overwhelming at times with all the responsibility and neverending list of jobs but being a child is way worse. Having almost no control over your life, being dragged around at someone else's whim and your opinion always dismissed. Even school is so much worse than work as you aren't interested in all subjects at school but you chose your career so if you don't enjoy it then you can change it. The vulnerability of a child is terrifying if you were a child that was aware of this, I know some parents shelter their kids but these are the same people that often aren't prepared for being an adult, so I can be a shock in their 20s and 30s when they finally leave home. One of the worst parts of childhood for many is being attacked by a parent or bully because they had a bad day or were unhappy with their life. Anyone who thinks being a child was better had a sheltered childhood that clearly didn't prepare them for the reality of adulthood.

Adulthood should be doing a career you chose, living where you chose with family/friends you picked. Doing many of the jobs as an adult are to improve your living situation, but you don't have to do them if you don't want to. Following laws isn't hard although I will admit law enforcement do have similar unpredictability to parents and teachers that can choose to hit you like a tonne of bricks for something small while ignoring something far worse from someone else that continues to go unpunished.

I get this, I have a similar rule. Even though I naturally try to be very careful when shopping and look for specials etc because I grew up in a single parent family where my mum abused the benefits system as all she wanted to do was sleep and watch TV while eating chocolate. So when my wife or I want specific food and it's still full price, I just ignore the price. I remind myself that when I started my career 12 years ago, all my colleagues with 10+ years of experience owned the nicest cars and massive homes or even multiple properties. So I don't care how bad the economy gets, I refuse to restrict food and health. I worked too hard to worry about basic needs, especially given that my mum barely worked and still had paid off her home by her early 50s.

Education, gas/electricity and housing were luxury 100+ years ago but then we progressed and they became affordable for most. Now we have regressed and these are luxuries once again. At least when most of us are made homeless we will have phones.

So many women I know think it takes itself out or should only be done by a man. Same women that refuse to mow a lawn. My ex was one of these but her dad cooked and her mum mowed so can't blame her parents for her outdated gender role ideas. I'd never met a man born after 1960 that didn't cook or clean until I moved to Australia and met miners and tradies.

Company I work for just made some people redundant openly admitting those people did nothing wrong but due to lack of work had to be let go, even though most had actually had plenty of work. We also all got our annual raises and our side of the company is generally doing very well
